Frankie Darro, who plays an
important role in "The Merry
Frinks,” now showing at the
Palace Theatre, is only seven-
teen years old but few of the
oldsters on the First National
lot have had longer screen ex-
perience.
Frankie started at the old
Ince Studio twelve yean ago
and has been working steadily
ever since. ' Among his best
known pictures are “Tug Boat
Annie,” “The Sin of Madelon
Claudet,” "Mayor of Hell,”
“Mad Genius,” "Public Ene-
my” and “Wild Boys of the
Road.” His work in the lat-
ter film won him new laurels
and the part of one of the
FHnks in his current picture.
In "The Merry Frinks,
Frankie had an opportunity to
show his mettle since his col-
leagues are troupers of the first
water, the cast including Aline
MacMahon, Guy Kibbee, Hugh
Herbert, Helen Lowell, Allen
Jenkins and Joan Wheeler.
The picture is based on the
hilarious comedy by Gene Mar-
key and Kathryn Scola and
concerns a Bronx family who
are always in an uproar.
Ask For
In spite of knockers, you1
will always find the real citi-
zens moving forward step by
step, always building, always
boosting, always grasping the
hand of opportunity and build-
ing the home city day by day
into a bigger and better city.
