Highway 95 Bond
Issue Set Jan. 12
Upon presentation of a peti-
tion signed by more than 300
voters in the area affected the
county commissioners court
Tuesday set Jan. 12 as tho date
for a $50000 bond election for
riffht-of-way on Highway 95
from the Little river bridge to
Bartlott.
Sunnorters of the project have
lust about completed contacting
the property owners involved
and have said they are confident
the right-of-way can be bought
for $50000 or slightly less.
Taxes for retiring this bond
issue will be based on state-
county renditions not on school
district renditions they said
yesterday.

Game Of Season
To Granger Lions
Bartlott Bulldogs last their
final game of the football season
to the district champion Granger
Lions on Bulldog field last
Wednesday night but they were
still fighting when the whistle
ended the game with the score
20-O
ranger scored once in the

at Camp Hood Elementary
School on Friday of this week.
Registration begins at 9:30 the
meeting opens at 10:00 a. m. and
will close at 2:00 p. m.

The Baptist Woman's Mission-
ary Society met Tuesday at the
church for a covered dish lunch-

Lottie Moon Missionary Week of
Prayer program.
The meeting was opened with
scripture reading by Mrs. Roy
Stockton and her topic was
"People Darkness - L i g h t."
Others on the first part of the

tives here Wednesday that Aug-
ust Hunka formerly of Holland" -was
killed in an accident at'
Santa Fe New Mexico at 6:00
o'clock Wednesday morning. He
is a son-in-law of Mrs. August
Jeschke and brother-in-law of
Mrs. Jesse Miller and Mrs. Walt-
er Heise all of Bartlett. Details
of the accident were not known.
Mr. Hunka was employed with
a construction company in Santa
ie having gone there last July
upon completion of some pro-
jects of the company at Camp
Hood.
Funeral arrangements had not
been made at press time but it
was expected that the body
would be returned to Holland
for burial.
