Ice Vogues Of '52
To Be At Baylor
Stadium In June
The all-new ice skating ex-
travaganza the Ice Vogues of
1952 has been scheduled for the
Baylor Stadium for six nights
beginning June 2 bringing the
novelty of an outdoor ice show
to Waco in midsummer.
Although the oddity is one of
the Show's chief features it has
worked successfully throughout
the South in Europe and even in
torrid Latin-America. Novelty.
hbwever is not its sole drawing
power for the lavishly costum-
ed beautifully trained principal
performers and large choruses of
girls and boys have played to
sell-out audiences with an ex-
travaganza comparable in cost-
umes setting and music to a
major Broadway musical.
The show is produced by
George Tyson a Baylor grad-
uate who has earned consider-
able reknown with his famed
Holiday On Ice parent Company
of the Ice Vogues.
The huge tank on which the
show will be performed will be
shiped to Waco for installation
several days in advance. More
than 110 miles of coiled pipe sev-
eial thousand pounds of calsium
chloride two huge drums of
carbon dioxide and 50 rolls of
roofing paper are only a few of
the items required for installa-
tion. Curing the show the tank
will be covered in the daytime
and the softened ice will be built
up again a short time before the
performance begins.
Included in the show's repert-
oire are 10 spectacular produc-
tions sequences a dozen or more
top-flight stars and a wealth of
comedy routines and novelty
numbers.
Mail orders will be accepted
now at the Baylor Stadium and
delivery will be made starting
May 5 and over-the-counter
sales will begin a week later. The
two hundred ringside seats will
be available at $3.00 and 480 box
seats at the same price; 1332
lower reserved' seats (below the
boxes and right in front of Rink)
are $2.25; 1431 upper reserved
seats (above the boxes) are
$1.75. General admission is $1.25
and 8000 can be seated comfort-
ably in that section. For Child
ren prices are 50 lower in each
bracket.
Checks accompanying mail
orders should be made payable
to the Baylor Bear Club Inc.
which is sponsoring the show for
the benefit of the Baylor Ath
letic Fund.
