MTGCD
meets today
Following concerns by local
residents, the Middle Trinity
Groundwater Conservation District
(MTGCD) will continue discussion
on the district's injection well
correspondence policy at today's
meeting.
Erath County resident Wes
Biglan and Worried about Water’s
Elaine Smith have urged the board
to implement a more stringent
policy when protesting injection
wells in and around Erath County
and the Trinity Aquifer rechaige
zone.
There will also be continued
discussion on the Municipal Setting
Designation request presented to the
Stephenville City Council by the
ownera of the Rayloc facilities
located on Hwy 377. The
designation would allow the
company to circumvent costly
cleanup of the contaminated area by
declaring the "water in the area as
non-potable.
In addition, the real estate-
committee will report on the
"findings of the panel since last
month's meeting. The group is
searching for a suitable location to
relocate the MTGCD offices.
Also on the agenda are items of
regular business including the
payment of bills, incoma'expense
comparison, and Joe Cooper's
managers report.
All citizens of Erath and
Comanche counties, or anyone
concerned with protecting the area's
water supply, are invited to attend
the meeting. The meeting begias at
1 pm at Dublin City Hall at 213 E.
