Jamille Ashmore, top AAU tum-
bler, demonstrated tumbling teach-
ing techniques for the Combined
9 a.m. physical education classes
of Mr. Bill Atchison and Coach
Elmer Hanebutt, Friday.
- The trim athlete, rated as the
true champion tumbler in, the
Southwest by Mr. Glen Wilcox,
director of Junior Boys Athletics
for the City Recreation Center,
grew up in DalJjas and attended
Jesuit High School and Florida
State, where he majored in physical
education.
Ashmore travels across the world
as a tumbler for the State Depart-
ment and Pan American teams. He
recently went on an Olympic tour
in the Far East, sponsored by the
State Department.
Ashmore noted that the Fat East
responds enthusiastically to gym-
nastics. He appeared for many
teaching clinics there. In Far East-
ern competition, the Dallas athlete
was finally defeated by three Jap-
anese performers.
Tumbling will be taught by Mr.
Wilcox on Tuesday nights at 7:30
in the gym. Those interested will
be welcome.
