that since his brother Bill took
the plunge again and married
when was he going to make
that step. Wow!!! Nancy said
she didn’t know a man could

question. She thought he was

DARE SPEAK THE TRUTH
Arcadia Church of Christ
By Tom Barthel, Minister
The Bible was given by God
to man. It is man’s guide and rule
of life on earth and his destiny.
When the world comes to an end
and ALL mankind stands before
God in judgement the books will
be opened. (Revelation 20:12).
One of those Books will be the
Bible. Jesus said, “He that re-
jected me, and receiveth not my
words, hath one that judgeth him:
the word that I have spoken, the
same shall judge him in the last
day” (John 12:48).
Anyone can misuse or reject
God’s word. For example, a man
was once arrested for stealing,
and when asked why he was
stealing things, he replied, “be-
cause Paul said so in the Bible”.
Then he proceeded to quote Paul.
“Let him that stole steal, no more
working with his hands.”
(Ephesians 4:28). Obviously, he

and the money received will
be used to help the Senior Citi-
zens with utility, medical, and
pharmacy expenses. Brother
Jim announced that there will
be a gospel singing January 20
at the Methodist Church. Fol-
lowing these announcements,
Randy gave a talk about illega
drugs in the area and then his
drug dog, BO demonstrated
how he could locate drugs hid-
den in a truck. The meeting
was adjourned until next
month.
quoted the Scripture wrong, as do
many others to support their own
desires and unlawful acts. Peter
said, that Paul spoke some things
that are hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and
unstable wrest (twist), as they do
the other Scriptures, unto their
own destruction (2 Peter 3: 15-16).
Even in our age many still twist
the Scriptures to suit their own
selfish desires.
God strictly forbids anyone
tampering with his word in any
way. Sadly many are deceived into
believing perversions of the word.
We read in 1 Timothy 4:1-2, “Now
the Spirit speaketh expressedly,
that in latter times some shall de-
part from the Faith, giving heed
to seducing spirits, and doctrines
of devils, Speaking lies in hypoc-
risy, having their conscience

seared with a hot iron.” Peter tells
us, “But there were false proph-
ets also among the people, even
as there shall be false teachers
among you, who privily shall
bring in damnable heresies, even
denying the Lord that brought
them, and bring upon themselves
swift destruction. And many shall
follow their pernicious ways; by
reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of’ (2 Peter
1-2).
Like the Spirit says, we are liv-
ing in LATTER TIMES, and many
are speaking lies. And yes, Peter
said there are false teachers and
preachers deceiving multitudes
about salvation and godly living.
In our age, those who dare to
teach the Truth, the whole Truth,
and nothing but the Truth are be-
coming more unpopular in the
world of religion. In many places,
how dare a teacher preach
against fornication, adultery, mar-
riage and divorce, drinking, drug
use, immorality, homosexualism,
and on the forbidden list goes.
Regardless what people feel
and think, we must without ex-
ception, be true to God and his
Word. Jesus said, “the Truth shall
make you free” (John 8:32).
Come join with us in Bible
study and worship.
