Questionable business practices....
Dear Editor,
My concern is about an Automotive Mechanic Body
Shop who has been doing deceptive and misleading deals
in Palacios, TX. It’s on Hwy 35. At times we think that we
know but little do we know that is why I am writing this
letter to let the people of Palacios and surrounding towns
know about being taken advantage of. On July 16, my
son-in-law and daughter gave a $500 down payment to the
business owner, then on July 18, $1,000; a total of $1,500 for
a vehicle. Naturally I’m going to help my kids as a parent.
They received the vehicle on July 18. My son-in-law had
to work that weekend so really never test drove it here in
town. He really couldn’t test drive it out of town because of
working late hours and on call his obligation to his job. On
July 21,1 took his vehicle to Bay City to get window tint
removed and while I was there getting it inspected. I could
not believe what happened. The transmission goes out and I
could not believe it not even 50 miles that this car had been
driven. The owner at this time was in Bay City and answered
my call one time and never picked up again. Yes as a parent
I was mad as Hell and I got involved instantly. One month
has gone by, no repairs, no refund, no loaner car so yes I
am fuming. You can understand my concern when they are
your kids and they get taken advantage of. To top it off he
takes from my two grandbabies. Larry’s Automotive is a
good establishment and so is Nieto’s Paint and Body which
are on Hwy 35. People beware and if you need the name
of a place and location of this business please feel free to
contact me or son-in-law. They say you play with fire one
too many times you’re going to get burned and he said ouch!
Parent-Grandparent Mad as Hell,
Joe G. Pena
