at Lake Belton fishing last week-

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Freedman
spent part of their vacation last
week here at the home of her par-
ents. Mr. and Mrs Dick Henry.
Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mathews of
Clifton visited in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. C. W. Cummings last Sun-
day afternoon.
Mrs. J. E. Fulp and Marsha left
Saturday for their home at Odessa
after spending two weeks here in
the home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Cummings.
Mrs. J. R. Linton *tuj Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Cox and children of
Fort Worth visited in the home of
Mr. and Mrs Kirby Cox last week-
end. They also visited Mrs. Glenn
Cox's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Omer
Jermstad. Mrs. Jermstad returned
home last week after spending sev-
eral days in the Clifton hospital
where she had been since breaking
her arm recently.
Mrs. Jennings Bryan spent the
week-end in Dallas with relatives;
Mr. Bryan and Bill visited in Fort
Worth. Mr. Bryan's mother, Mrs
Kate Bryan, returned home with

Earl Corpier's
Father Dies
The many friends of Karl Cor-
pier. of this city, regretted to learn
of the sudden death of his father.
M. M. Corpier, aged 76, of Hills-
on Saturday afternoon. September
14
It is understood that Mr Corpier
collapsed in downtown Hillsboro
and that he was pronounced dead
upon arrival a( a hospital in that
city. Hospital officials said that he
died as the result of a heart attack.
A retired carpenter. Mr. Corpier
was born in Tennessee. He moved
to Hillsboro when he was 17 years
of age and had continued lo reside
in that city during the succeeding
years.
In 1900 Mr Corpier married Miss
Sallie Matson. He also was a mem-
ber of the Baptist Church in Hills
boro.
Left to survive Mr. Corpier are
his wife. Mrs. M. M. Corpier. of
Hillsboro; three sons. Drue Cor-
pier, of Woodbury, Jim Corpier. of
Brandon, and Earl Corpier, of Clif-
ton; a daughter. Mrs. Tinnie Ola
Bilbry, of Fort Worth; and eight
grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr Corpier
were held at 10:00 o'clock on Mon-
day moaning, September 16. at the
Marshall and Marshall Funeral
Chapel in Hillsboro and were con
ducted by Reverend Alvin Swindell
apd Reverend Gerald Marsh. In-
terment followed In the Peoria
Cemetery.
Because of the services Trotter's
Grocery and Market in Clifton was
closed on Monday morning of this
week.

This is written one week in ad
vance of its regular mailing date.
It will be my last regular weekly
letter until Congress reconvenes on
January 7, 1958.
I leave this afternoon for two
weeks at the Interparliamentary
Union Conference in London. I
shall return directly on its adjourn-
ment to Washington. Then, I expect
to drive to Texan.rI should be home
about the 24th of this month
Lacy Sharp of my office will
join me Beginning the latter part
of this month, we expect to visit
about 30 high schools which have
invited me. This will take much of
