Vo arc informed by a 'gentlemen who

of a morcment mado ''by' tho. Wyandotte
Xheand rcTenueJcutterlwhtch looks as if4the
port of Pensacola was tn a state of blockade.
lie says these vesseli brought to a full rin-
ged ship which was standing in and when
the steamer ran them down outof sight the
CHmau of. war and the cutter were. lying
alongside tho merchantman the latter tying
to with her forctopsail.to the mast. Shu
was evidently in tho' temporary custody of
the man of war.
Tho samo Informant advi.sca us that
when tho Oregon ran into the jaws of Pen-
sacola Bay with tho troops who were in the
hold and elsewhere t keep them out of
sight the battlements of Fort Pickens were
covered with men tho hole force evident
ly being at quarters for action it must
have been rather a ticklish' moment fur
those on board the Oregon when running
under the tremendous ami wdl-mnnncd bi
terics which could have consigned them to
'destruction with a single broadside. Th
fort was evidently prp.ired for nn attack
from the force on tho stean.or an 1 would
doubtless have iired on her if situ had ap-
proached at jf with the intention of an as

Ivrytnen. Fur the lack of thee latter many
important advuutages are being lost which

'There are already forty guns mounted and
the whole fuicj uf tho fort is actively en-

to tho l.i6t. unless ho is iiihtiuctod by the
authorofes at Washington to giui up the
fort. Our informant thinks it would he an
ugly job to attempt to tsiku the ioit with
