Eighth Grade Parent Orientation
Meeting Set For April 28
Your son or daughter will begin a
very important four-year period of
time in his/her life next year. This will
be a very exciting and, hopefully, ful-
filling time for him/her. It is also a
time when expectations incraae, stan-
dards are higher, adjustments need to
be made, and requirements are more
difficult. It is for these reasons that
fpirmr g—jii ■BSpri
gin’s MOOT classes visited Chemical
Lime, Inc. for a plant tour provided by
the plant manager, Russell Riggs.
Riggs spoke to the 36 students, giv-
ing an overview of the company. He
explained the process in which lime
ami lime products are made. Students
visited such facilities as the quarry,
laboratory, office, control room, and
kilns. The trip was both interesting
and educational. Most of the students
had never taken a tour through
Chemical Lime and had no idea of the
many uses for lime. Students were
amazed at the si» of the company and
the technology involved in the
manufacturing of lime products. The
students would like to extend their
thanks to Chemical Lime and Mr.
Riggs for the field trip and plant tour.
