Regis Annual
Lunch Planned
WACO — “A Merrie Heart Doeth
Good” is the theme for the annual
luncheon of the Friends of the Regis/
St. Elizabeth Centers on Thursday,
March 26! The luncheon will be held
in the newly redecorated Ridgewood
Country Club ballroom at 11:30 a.m.
Guest speaker will be Toody Byrd,
noted humorist and motivational
speaker from Austin. A retired edu-
cator and school counselor, Byrd was
declared a “state treasure” by the
71st Legislature of the State of Ttexas.
Tickets are $30, with funds to be
used to purchase a medic alert sys-
tem for the residents of the regis, and
a heated cart for food trays for the
residents of the St. Elizabeth Center.

invited to a book review to support
the Family Abuse Center in Waco/
Bosque County, which does not have
its own abuse center, often uses the
Waco facility.
The book to be reviewed is “Just
As Long As I Can Ride Up Front
by Dr. Bruce Mt Tv"r. Mrs. James
Gooch will give the review, which will
be held in the fellowship hall of First
Baptist Church of Clifton on Tues-
day, March 17, starting at 7 p.m.
No admission will be charged, but
a freewill offering will be accepted,
with proceeds benefftting the abuse
center. The church is located at 207
South Avenue F in Clifton. For more
