CLIFTON — Santa’s Angel
Trees are now set up throughout
Bosque County. In each commu-
nity, the names, addresses, and
gift information of elderly citizens,
underprivileged children, and
needy families, along with their
Christmas wishes, has be gath-
ered by a network of caring people
and groups.
The names have been assigned
a number to protect the privacy of
the individuals and the number,
along with clothing sizes and a
Christmas wish is written on an
Angel and displayed on the trees
in each community.
Bosque County residents are
encouraged to participate by go-
ing to one of the tree locations,
securing an Angel, and providing
the needs of the particular Angel
Wrapped gift items are to be re-
turned to same tree location by
Dec. 14.
Angel Trees will be located at
the following businesses:
Clifton—B.J.’s Western Wear,
Gloff Ford Motors, and Timeless
TVeasures.
Valley Mills — Texas-New
Mexico Power Company.
Cranfills Gap — First Security
State Bank.
Walnut Springs — City Hall.
Morgan — Orfield Grocery.
THE POPULATION OF CRANFILLS GAP swelled threefold last Satur-
day during the community's 36th annual Luteflsk Dinner. Organizers
estimated that over 700 tickets wars sold to the meal, which featured
traditional Norwegian luteflsk, turksy-and-dresslng, and many other
delicacies. The event brings the community together each year as young
and old alike work to dish out the foods to the hungry visitors. The
meal began as a fund-raiser for school football uniforms, but has grown
to Include a variety of beneficiaries within the Gap community.

Achievement Medal
COLLEGE STATION - Air
Force Capt. Thomas S. Sharpe has
been decorated with the Air Force
Achievement Medal. The medal is
awarded to individuals for perfor-
mance of meritorious service, acts
of courage, or other outstanding
achievements or accomplish-
ments rendered specifically on
behalf of the Air Force.
Sharpe is an assistant professor
of aerospace studies assigned at
Texas A&M University, College
Station. He is the son of Thomas
G. Sharpe Jr. of Brownsville and
Shirley R. Sharpe of Gunnison,
Colo. His wife, Aunicia, is the
daughter of Jon A. and Carolen A.
Bergeron of Whitney.
The captain graduated in 1986
from St. Joseph Academy,
Brownsville, and received a
bachelor’s degree in 1991 from
Rice University in Houston.
