Coon Creek Good Neighbor Club Meets
The Coon Creek Good
Neighbor Club met Oct. 9 at
2 p.m. for their regular
monthly meeting in the Coon
Creek Clubhouse. 18 mem-
bers were present with two
guests —Robin Plumlee and
Kylee Holt.
The President. Mrs. Ruby
Lee Holt, opened the meet-
ing with the Lord’s Prayer
and the Pledge of Allegiance
to the flag, said in unison.
The minutes of the last
meeting and the treasurer’s
report were read by Mrs.
Teresa Holt.
Mrs. Ollie Mae Green-
wade, nominating committee
chairman, presented to the
club a list of names of
officers for the ensuing year.
New officers elected for
the coming year were:
President. Mrs. Zeda Jame
son; Vice-Presidei\J. Mrs
Teresa Holt; Sec.-Treas.
Mrs. Mary Ann Plumlee
Asst. Sec.-Treas.. Mrs. Mar
guerite Bonds: Reporter
Mrs. Camille Womack; Cus-
todian for cards to the sick,
Mrs. Modina Spindler; and
cards to the shut-ins, Mrs.
Marguerite Bonds.
Since this was the last
regular meeting of the year,
plans were made for the
Thanksgiving Supper and
Christmas Dinner and party.
Members drew for hostesses
of the month for the next
year.
Hostess, Mrs. Lucille
Findley, and co-hostess,
Mrs. Lois Rowe, served
refreshments consisting of
chicken salad and pimento
cheese sandwiches, pickles,
chips, butterpecan cake,
pound cake with chocolate
icing, punch, and coffee.
Halloween colors were
carried out for table decora-
tions.
The next regular monthly
meeting will be on Jan. 8.
1981.

sent for the Membership Tea included, 1. to r., Mrs.
Berniece Willingham, Mrs. Blanche Curbo, Mrs. Ray

M.K. Bradstreet, Mrs. Marilyn Maiott, and Mrs.
Geraldine Gilbert. Mrs. Jackie Emerson, an active
member, was serving at the registration table at the time
the picture was taken. Also active members, bat unable to
attend the Tea, are Mrs. Joe Krai and Mrs. Sterling
Jordan.

Austin Avenue Methodist
Church in Waco and attend-
ed by 9 local members.
Mrs. Edwin Stell, Chair-
man of the nominating com-
mittee, submitted the follow-
ing for officers of 1981:

eighteen day tour with Kin-

io, Canada.
Some highlights of the tour
were, Gateway Arch in Miss-
ouri, Henry Ford Museum
and Greenfield Village, Nia-
gra Falls, Queen Victoria
Park and Floral Clock, the
Finger Lakes Region of New
York State, across Lake
Champlain through the
Green Mountains and White
Mountains of Vermont and

Honor Past Masters
Past Masters of the Clifton
Lodge No. 360 A.F. & A.M.
will be honored this coming
Monday night, October 27,
with a special program at the
Clifton Lodge building.
Speaker for the occasion is
a former Past Master of the
Clifton Lodge, Burton Coll-
ins.
Following the regular bus-
iness session and the brief
program, those present will
enjoy refreshments and fel-
lowship. All Past Masters
are urged to be present.

ed that 10 of the Church’s
missionaries have birthdays
in October. She also had
charge of the annual pledge
service, “Whatever You Do,
Let It Be For The Glory of
God.” She was assisted by
Mmes. Stell, Berniece Will-
ingham, and Mplly Jordan.
In conclusion, a solo was
presented by Mrs. Frank
Grimes, “We Thank Thee
Lord,” during which mem-
bers signed pledge cards for
1981.
Hostesses for the fellow-
ship hour were Mmes., J.W.
Gillespie, J.E. Morton and
W.B. Moorman, who used
the Halloween colors with
the table decor and refresh-
ments.

Sheppard Air Force Base
Airman Thomas J. Mas-
ters, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Hubert E. Masters of Mor-
gan, Texas, has been assign-

ed to Sheppard Air Force
Base, Texas, after complet-
ing Air Force basic training.
During the six weeks at
Lackland Air Force Base,
Texas, the airman studied
the Air Force mission, organ-
ization and customs and
received special training in
human relations.
In addition, airmen who
complete basic training earn
credits toward an associate
degree in applied science
through the Community Coll-
ege of the Air Force.
The airman will now re-
ceive specialized instruction
in the aircraft maintenance
field.

group included the New York
City Ballet at the Opera
House at the Kennedy Cen-
ter, Drama of Creation at
National Bridge, Virginia,
and the Farewell Dinner at
Brinkley, Arkansas.
Mrs. Mabel Nevels of
Plano was a house guest of
her sisters, the Mmes. Moor-
mans here last weekend.
She especially enjoyed the
Cayote Barbecue, having
been reared in that commun-
ity.
Gap Garden
Club Meets
The Cranfills Gap Garden
Club met on October 1 in the
Community Room of the
First Security State Bank.
Fifteen members were pre-
sent, along with two visitors,
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mick-
elson.
Mrs. Ada Mae Fields and
Clarice Olson had birthdays
this months, so Happy Birth-
day was sung to them before
refreshments were served by
Alice Pierson and May Jen-
son. Evelyn Sorenson read a
humorous poem concerning
the aged, and Wilma Finstad
also read a poem.
Evelyn Sorenson and Cla-
rice Olson will be hostesses
for the November meeting to
be held in the same location.
Visitors are always welcome
to come and enjoy the games
and fellowship.
