home during the Christmas holi-

of Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs.
Grimland plans to live in Clif-
ton. Other guests were Miss
Johanna Rogstad of Dallas, sever-
al relatives from Clifton, and Rev.
and Mrs. Neal Boese, Diane and
Karen, of Grand Prairie. Rev.
Boese has accepted a pastorate
in Austin.
Officials of the Houston Live-
stock Show and Rodeo have an-
nounced that the existing annual
scholarship fund for the out-
standing FHA or 4-11 Club mem-
ber has been doubled.
“Cognisant of the soaring costs
of education, and realizing the
great need for trained agricultur-
ists in Texas, we have upped
the scholarship from $2000 to
$4600, paid at the rate of $500
per semester,*’ Louis Pearce,
Jr. said.
At the present time. 14 hoys
are presently enrolled in college
through the Houston Livestock
Show and Rodeo scholarship.
These boys’ scholarships will be
increased from S2S0 per semes-
ter to $500 per semester, begin-
ning with % 1969 spring semes-
ter. "T
The scholarship is confined to
boys who enroll in a course
which leads, to a bachelor's de-
gree in an agricultural field and
the winner must attend a Tex-
as college.
Any active member of the
Future Farmers of America or
4-H Club, who is a graduating
senior, is eligible to apply for
the scholarship. Qualifications
are based op outstanding leader-
ship. scholarship, the applicant’s

L. May of Dallas, retired senior
vice president of Long Star Gas
Company, were held 1 p.m. Fri
day, Dee. 27, at Sparkman-Hill
crest Funeral Chapel in Dallas
May, 75, a native of Lima
Ohio, moved to Texas in 1917,
Since his retirement from Lone
Star Gas in 1958, he served as
chairman of the board of Arkla
Air Conditioning Corp.
During his Lone Star career
he worked to build and direct
the distribution operations of the
company. Among the early pro-
jects under his supervision was
construction of 200 plants within
a 5-year period to serve Lone
Star Gas.
May was a Scottish Rile and
York Rite Mason and a member
of the University Park Metho-
dist Church.
Survivors: wife: two sons,
John Edward May and Lester
Lee May of Dallas; a daughter,
Mrs. Doris Harper of Dallas; a
brother, Waldo May of Lima,
Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Paul Holden
of Lima, 10 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
