Sermon Topic: "Saints for
Every Day" based on II Cor
13.13 "All the Saints salute
you". This would be an approp
nate greeting on Halloween for
Halloween is the old word for
the eve of All Saints. Nov. 1,
each yelar is observed as a day
upon which saints not otherwise
mentioned by name in the calen
dar, and those whose names are
not known in the Church Mili-
tant are commemorated.
Saints are not of a different
species of human beings, but
rather are persons immersed in
life, enjoying it, enduring its
sadness, triumphing through its
troubles, but living above the
average and committed to the
One Who communicated to them
His valor radiance and good-
ness. They are also enthusiasts
for goodness and serve as "little
Christs.”
St. Paul is thinking of people
who were saints not because
they were perfect, hut because
they had given themselvs to
Jesus in heart, mind and will.
Behind the great saints of yes-
terday are the humble saints
! whose names are not affixed to
| an earthly calendar, were never
canonized and performed no
1 miracles. The saints of everyday
j not only salute us, but accom-
| pany us on the road we travel
; now. Let us live so that we may-
re join the saints who have gone
on before us.

HOME ECONOMICS BRIEF
According to the latest theory,
it's friction between hair and
pillowcase that cause coiffures
to become mussed during the
night. One preventive is to sleep
on a slick-surface, friction-free
pillowcase of a type said to pre-
vent touseling a set — oven
without wearing a net or bonnet.
Mod of these protective pillow-
cases —some even silicone-treat-
ed for super-smoothness — are
a' machine washable as ordi-
nary bed linens.
