The May meeting of the Coon
Creek Good Neighbor Club was
held in the Coon Creek Commun-
ity House on May 13. Mrs. Lu-
cille Sechrest and Mrs. Rose St.
Members
Clair were hostesses,
and their guests enjoyed a dem-
lonstration given by Mr. Dave
and Jill Ford were in the house
party.
The bride graduated from the
Tyler High School and is a grad-
uating senior at South West Tex-
as College, San Marcos. She will
receive her degree in August and
plans to teach this fall.
The groom is a graduate oi
Clifton High School. He was a
member of the 1966 Ranch Train-
ing Class at Texas Christian
University in Fort Worth and
has attended S.W.T.S.C. this
year.
After a short wedding trip to
Corpus Christi, the newlyweds
plan to make their home at San
Marcos for the present.

Everetts who showed the use of
a type of liquid embroidery for
decorations of many kinds.
After the demonstration, deli-
cious refreshments were served
by the hostesses.
A business meeting was held
during which the possibility of
building a new community rec-
reation center was discussed.
The use of government financing
through the federal program
which makes available a loan
with low interest and long term
for this type construction was
discussed. A committee appoint-
ed by Mrs. Irene Aldridge, club
president, at the April meeting
had got together facts concern-
ing this program and reported
their findings to the club. The
possibility of a remodeling job
on the present community house
was also discussed.

Texas State College. San Mar-
cos, Texas, was the scene Friday
evening, May 26. at 8 o'clock
when Miss Judith T. Ford of
San Marcos became the bride of
Mr. John Marshal Mitchell of
Mosheim in an informal cere-
mony.
The parents of the couple are
Mr, and Mrs. William Jewell
Ford of Dickenson and Mr. and
Mrs Marshal Esteen Mitchell of
Mosheim.
Rev. Leroy Russell of San
Marcos heard the couple's
double-ring pledge with the Epis-
copal priest - in - charge. Rev.
Gene Jennings, present.
Organ mimic was rendered by
Mrs. C. A. Austin.

The bride wore a white nubbed
silk suit with a lace mantilla
head covering. Her bridal bou-
quet was centered with a yellow
throated white orchid.
Susan Seltier of Corpus Chris-
U served as bridesmaid and was
attired in a yellow street-length
dress with matching shoes and
a sleeveless white full-length
redingote.
Jerry Reeder Hill of Clifton
attended the groom as best man
and Budgie Ford of Pearland
and Kay Edwards of Lampasas
served as ushers.
A reception was held after the
ceremony in the church dining
hall. Carolyn Seay of San Anton-
io, Jane Curry of Fort Worth
Miss Bonnie Philipp of Waco,
bride-elect of Mr. Fred Erickson
also of Waco, was honored with
a luncheon and kitchen shower
Saturday, May 27, in the home
of Mrs. Ray Byford of Star Rt.
2, Clifton, with Mrs. Werner
Philipp as co-hostess.
The bride s colors ot blue and
white were carried out in the
table arrangement consisting of
a white branch decorated with
miniature cooking utensils tied
with blue ribbons and using blue
j and white permanent flowers.
After the salad luncheon, the
| guests played Bride Bingo with
prizes of kitchen utensils being
presented to Mrs. W. C. Philipp.
Mrs. Raymond Philipp, and Mrs.
I Palma Christenson, after which
Miss Philipp opened her kitchen
shower gifts.
