Tile Tcxu Almanac for 18G2.
-sis
Id another column mil bo found an enum-
eration or tfae principal articles to be given in
our next issue of the Texas Almanac Host
of these articles are already in hand others
are in progress or preparation and other;
again (such as State statistics) can onlyliehad
at the close of the fiscal jear as heretofore ;
but arrangements have been made to obtain
them at the earliest possible moment so that
oar next Almanac may be issued in the month
or September or a few weeks earlier than onr
previous numbers. Meantime wa we expect-
ing and shall doubtless have many articles
cot herein enumerated but we have omitted to
same them in this list because we cannot now
be certain as to which of them will be furn-
ished -us in time. We hare for example been
promised articles on the culture' of the grape
in Texas and the manufacture of wine ; on the
proper mode of preparing the ground for diff-
erent crops such as corn cotton wheat rye
barter oats etc and the season for planting
each on the profits of raising blooded slock
lu Texas as horses and other animals ; on the
camel in Texas showinc the remarkable sue
cers that has attended the introduction tit tbi
animal into onr State its increase value etc ;
on the Cashmere Goat ; on the Mail Route from
San Antonio lo San Diego as compared with
othor routes to the Pacific ; the biographies ol
several distinguished citizens of Texas etc.'
etc and we would here remark that we shall
bo thantM to any and til persons who maj
furnish us with articles on those or other sub-
jects of general interest to our people and cal-
culated to promote the prosperity of our State
The price of onr Almanac and Map will be
the same as heretofore and orderB sent in will
be filled in the order of their entry or dale.
It will be seen from the enumeration that
the next number of the Almanac will contain
a very large variety ofmost important articles
and such as will be needed for constant refer
ence for years to come. In this respe't it will
be the most valuable number we have tissued
Wo here pvc a list of ourerMcesHo mer
