freshment table with all appoint-
ments in silver and crystal. Miss
Alba' Lu Peters, sister of the
honoree, poured coffee during the
refreshment hour, and Mrs. Bob-
by Pasemann of Houston served
cake.

The opening devotion was led
by Mrs. Josef Barton, who based
her message on love, saying that

Third grade pupils presented the

tion skit, and a second singing
several numbers, accompanied by
Mrs. James Fisher. Smokey Rog-
ers introduced the numbers.
Mrs. Raymond Schroeder spoke
briefly on Founders Day, remind-
ing the members that PTA was
founded Feb. 17, 1897, founded for
mothers and later including fath-
ers and teachers in the name
Parents and Teachers.
A recommendation from the ex-
l ecutive board for raising the dues
from the present 50c was turned
down.
- Mrs. Schroeder also reported
[ on the forthcoming spring con-
i ference on April 6. She urged
members to plan to attend as a
. chance for a ‘shot in the arm’
. in PTA work.
} Mrs. Schroeder also announced
that the dinner on April 5 for
board members and others would
be served at the country Club,
the PTA units to pay for those
served.
Mrs. Jerome Jez, Mrs. Ray-
' mond Schroeder, and Mrs. Del-
mer Nichols were elected to serve
' on the nominating committee.
