Notice is hereby given that a
special meeting of the stockhold-
ers of The (ialveston, Harrisburg
fit San Antonio Railway Comp*
ny has l»een called by the Board
of Directors of said Company to
convene at the general office of
said Company in the city of
Houston, Texas, at 12 o'clock
noon, on the 23rd day of May,
1910, for the purpose of author-
izing the making, execution and
delivery of a first mortgage upon
all or any part of the following
properties of said Company:
FIRST.
All of the property acquired by
this Company from The New
York, Texas 8c Mexican Railway
Company, conveyed under a cer-
tain deed, dated August 8th.
1905, including the railroads ex-
tending from Rosenberg, in Fort
Bend County, fo Victoria, in Vic-
toria County, with branches ex-
tending from Wharton, in Whar-
ton County, to Hawkinaville, in
Matagorda County, and from
Van Vleck, in Wharton County,
to Tret Palacios, in Matagorda
County, with the franchises and

Branch Railroad Company, con-
veyed by a certain deed, dated
28th day of September, 1905, in-
cluding the railroad extending
from Harwood, to Gonzales, ^in
Gonzales County, with the fran-
chises and other property there-
unto appertaining, together with
all improvements, betterments or
additions to the said railroad made
since the date of said acquisition.
FOURTH.
All of the property acquired by
this Company from The Galves-
ton, 1 louston 6c Northern Rail-
wav Company, conveyed by a
certain deed, dated 28th day of
September,, 1905, including the
railroad extending from Houston,
in Harris County, to Galveston,
in Galveston County, with the
franchises and other . property
thereonto appertaining, together
with all improvements, better-
ments or additions to the said rail-
road made since the date of said
acquisition*
FIFTH.
All of the property acquired by
this Company from the San An-
tonio 6i Gulf Railroad, conveyed
by a certain deed, dated August
9th, 1905, including the railroad
extending from San Antonio, in
Bexar County, to or near Stock-
dale, in Wilson County, with the
franchises and other property
thereunto appertaining, together
with all improvements, better-
ments or additions to the said rail-
road made since the date of said
acquisition.
SIXTH.
The railroad of this Company
extending from the terminus of
the railroad purchased from the
San Antonio & Gulf Railroad at
or near Stockdale, in Wilson
County, through the counties of
Wilson, Gonzales and Dewitt, to
Cucro, in Dewitt County, a dis-
tance of approximately 47.05
miles, with the franchises and
appurtenances.
SEVENTH.
All of the interest of this Com-
pany in and to a causeway ’ or
combination of roadway, arch-
bridge and drawbridge, now in
the course of construction by the
County of Galveston across Gal-
veston Bay from a point on Gal-
veston—Island to a point at or
near Virginia Point, in Galveston
County, arising under a certain
contract or lease, dated Decepiber
15, 1908, entered into between
the County of Galveston of the
first part, Gulf, Colorado & Santa
Fe Railway Company, Galveston,
Houston & Henderson Railway
Company and the Galveston,
Harrisburg 8c San Antonio Rail-
way Company of the second part,
and Galveston-Houston Electric
Railway Company of the third
part.
The said mortgage to be made,
executed and delivered for the
purpoar of securing the payment
of bonds of. the aaid The Galves-
ton, Harrisburg 8c San Antonio
Railway Company to an amount of
not exceeding Ten Million Dollars
(910,000,000.00), payable at a
time not exceeding thirty {30)
years from the date thereof, and
bearing interest at a rate not ex-
ceeding six per centum per an-
num, payable semi-annually.

shall be as provided In said General
Laws, and governed by Its provisions.
Sac. 2. The Mayor, by virtue of his
offloe, shall be ex-officio recorder of the
Town of Alpine. Texas, and ahall pre-
aide over auch court, and shall be en-
titled to euoh fees as the statutes pro
acribe for Justices of the Peace in pros-
ecutions in justice court.
Sec. 3. The city clerk of the town
of Alpine, shall be ex-officio clerk of
said court, and may charge such fees
for services rendered as are allowed to
clerks of the county courts.
Sue. 4f The City Marshal may
charge such fees as are allowed by law
to sheriff’s or constables in prosecutions
in justice courts.
Sec. 5. The city attorney ahall
clikrgo such fees upon conviction as
are allowed by law to county attorneys
in cases tried in justice courts. That
is flve-dollara in case of plea of guilty,
and ten-dollars on conviction in contest
ed cases, which fees shall go the attor-
ney.
Sec. 6. The feea heroin provided
for and permitted to be charged1 shall
be taxed in all cases, and In case of
conviction shall bo oolle.'ted from the
defendant in no caae shall the town
of Alpine, Texas, bo liable nor assume
liability for, pay the costs, or any part
of aame, except the jury fee of throe
dollars, unless collected from the de
fondant
Sec. 7. Upon conviction of any
person, and in default of t^e payment
of the fine and costs, the defendant
•haM be placed in the care and custody
or the City Msrshul who ahall safety
keep said prisoner until he ahall have
paid such fine and costs as are assessed
against him. provided. „th»l said pris-
oner while in the actual custody of the
marshal after conviction, shall be al-
lowed fifty cents per day for ^very day
that he Is kept in custody, as a credit
of said fine and costs until he shall
have remained in sakl custody a suffi-
cient length of time to pay said fine
and costs at the rate of fifty cents per
day.
Sec- H. The City Marshal shall con
fine such prisoners as are placed in his
custody in the jailor other safe place
for safe keeping, and may, when the
city council deem it advisable to put
the convicts of the city to work upon
such public work in the town of Alpine
a. tho city council may designate, and
while at auch work the prisoners shall
be allowed one dollar per day for each
and every day they work aa a credit on
their fine and costs
Skc. ». The same rules as apply to
justice courts with reference to trial
by jury, summoning juries, summon-
ing witnesses, and all other rules of
procedure, shall prevail in the record-
ers court.
Skc. 10. A fee of fifty-cents shall be
paid to each juror who is empaneled as
a juror in the Recorders’ court, which
jury fee of three dollars will be taxed
as costa in the case, and in case of con-
victson shall be collected from the de-
fendant in the same manner aa other
coats aie paid.
Sec. 11. Witness fees, the same as
are allowed in justice court, shall be al-
lowed whan demanded by the witness,
upon subscribing to the affidavit pio
vided by law, which witness fee shall
bo taxe i as costs in the case, and col-
lected aa other costs, provided that in
no event shall the city be liable for any
witness fees.
Sec 12. Appeals may be taken from
the Recorder’s court to the county
court, under the same rules as govern
appeals from justice court.
Skc. 13. In case of conviction, or
pleas of guilty the recorder and the
clerk shall receive the same fees as a
justice of the peace. The Marshal's
fee shall bo the aame foes as a cone ta-
ble, and the city attorney, shall in case
of pleas of guilty or oonvlctkm receive
the seme foes aa a county attorney in
justice court.
Skc. 14. There shell be taxed
against, and collected of each defend-
ant in case of conviction, or in case of a
plea of guilty before the corporation
court the aame coats aa are proscribed
by law to bo oollected from a person
who is oonvioted in or pleads guilty in
a justice court.
