TAYLOR ROGERS AND KATIE KINDLE
Eagles Place Two On
Academic All-State Team
The Canton “Running Eagles” Cross Country team
has plenty to be proud of this year, including placing
two runners, Katie Kindle and Taylor Rogers, on the
Texas Girls Coaches Association Academic All-State
Team.
Canton cross country coach Marta Morgan stated,
“Katie is a very hard worker. She has been accepted
to UT Austin and will begin her studies next fall.
She is a great leader and puts forth 110% in every-
thing she does. I am very proud of her for all of her
accomplishments. She began running cross country
in 8 th grade with a goal of one day going to the state
meet. She fell just short of that goal this year. She
has been a great asset to the team and she will be
greatly missed.”
Morgan also offered high praise for Rogers, stat-
ing, “Taylor has been a part of the cross country team
since 7th grade. She is very dependable and reliable.
She has been the manager for the team the last two
seasons, but stepped in and ran at several meets this
year when injuries prevented the squad from com-
peting for a team title. Taylor has been accepted at
UT Austin and will be pursuing a career in account-
ing. I am very proud to have been a part of Taylor’s
high school memories and know that she will be suc-
cessful in anything she does.”
