consisting of cream and cake.

Tho Bartlett Chapter. Order
of Eastern Star had a most in-
teresting meeting last Tuesday
night. A number of candidates
were initiated into the myster-
ies of tho order. To add to the
occasion was the presence of
tho Grand Matron Miss Smith
of Brownwood. At the close of
the meeting refreshments were
served.
Mr. f'has. M. Gillespio of the
firm of Stokes-Blair Hardware
Co. undertakers and embalmers
returned the past week from
Dallas where ho spent some
time nt the Smith Embalming
College of that city and as a re-
sult of his work ho now holds a
State License No. 793 of em-
balmers. It is said that Mr.
Gillespie has made a record
second to none in his course and
is now fully prepared to attend
to this part of the undertaking
business.
