Loan Procedure
Explained For
New Grain Crop
Loans on the 1950 grain sorg-
hum crop will average about 22
cents 1 .-as than farmers received
last year under th Commodity
Credit Corporation program an-
nounces A. L. McFndden secre-
tary of the Williamson County
PMA.
Last year the rate in Texas
was $2.G4 per 100 on the Hous-ton-Gnlveston
basis while this
year the state rate is $2.42 cwt..
farmers in Williamson County
who stored their grain on their
f arms received S2.1G. Commcr-
Z i S ?$
" ? j. . CV . .
f.ro"L ?-7'3 to 51.78" explains
the PMA secretary.
Last year Williamson County
producers stored approximately
300 cars of maize. With the in
creased acreage in grain duo to
tho cdtton allotment program
county estimates for this year
are for a 500 car crop.
This is the first year tlilsr
county has had sufficient stor
age space arranged to care for
the crop of maize. This season
ample facilities are available for
the prospective bumper crop on
which harvest will begin within
tho next two or three weeks.
Storage spaces are available at
Georgetown Taylor Granger
Bartlett and Jarrell.
After farmers harvest their
maize if they wish to put it into
either farm-storage or commer-
cially stored space and receive a
CCC loan they should haul their
grain to one of the county stor-
age places or put it into their
own buildings. After this is done
they should report immediately
to the PMA office in George-
town A receipt will be given the
producers who are using com-
mercial storage space which
must be presented at tho PMA
office. After all papers have been
accepted farmers can take their
notes to their banks whero they
1 will be paid cash for their stored
crop.
