A new producer has been
brought on line in Hardin
County’s New Batson Field,
with Williams Exploration Co.
as the operator.
Located 1.5 miles north of
Batson, the well is in a 14-acre
lease in the Champion Choate
Survey. It is designated as the
No. 42 Choate Lot 3.
On a 12/64 choke, it flowed
153 barrels of oil per day.
The well bottomed at 3,123
feet and will produce from a
perforated interval in the Frio
Formation, 2,876 to 2,960 feet
into the hole.

abandoned an undrilled location
in the Saratoga Field, one mile
north-northeast of Saratoga.
The well had been designated
as the No. 1 Lot. 16.

mile southeast of Daisetta,
Arco Oil and Gas Co. has
finaled a new oil producer in
Liberty County’s Hull Field.
The well is designated as the
No. 428 Dolbear Fee, flowing at
Hanson Minerals Co. of Hou-
ston has filed first production
figures on a new gas well in the
Castillo Field. The No. 1 Arco
Flores 13 indicated ability to
flow 341,000 CF gas per day on
a 6/64 choke. It was rated at
2,868,000 CFD on absolute
open flow.
The operator has 40 acres
leased, with drillsite in Jasper
County’s Martin Flores Survey,
1.5 miles northeast of Quigley.
The well will produce from an
interval in the Yegua For-
mation, 7,559 to 7,563 feet into
the wellbore. Total drilling
depth was 7,914 feet.

Jim Tackett of Silsbee has
been appointed to the Board of
Directors of First National
Bank of Silsbee, according to an
announcement from the firm
this week.
Tackett has been owner and
operator of the J&M Super-
market for the past 10 years.
Prior to that he was employed
for 18 years by the A&P
Supermarkets in Dallas as
comptroller and treasurer.
He is a graduate of Southern
Methodist University with de-
grees in accounting and cor-
porate finance, and is a member
of the National CPA’s Associ-

C.D. Landolt was honored
recently with the dedication
and ribbon cutting of the C.D.
"Cap” Landolt Pavilion in Clear
Lake Park. Harris County
Judge Jon Lindsey presided
over the dedication.
Landolt, a 1923 graduate of
Silsbee High School, was super-
intendent for the Clear Lake
School District for 11 years and
was instrumental in many im-
provements, including the
acquisition of 168 acres for the
school district.
