oratory, UCR researchers start
with a ball of ice suspended from'
a piece of string inside a vacuum
chamber. Special pumps remove
air from the chamber; the solar
wind is recreated by a special
“gun” that shoots atomic particles
at the ice; and the magnetic force
of the planets is stimulated by
conducting wire coiled around
the chamber.
