Opens New Season
Activity in the Southwest
Conference got underway Sat-
urday with the nationally tele-
vised Baylor-Syracuse game
but it hits a bigger scale this
Saturday and another nation-
ally televised game is on tap.
That would be the Texas-
U.S.C. debacle in Austin which
starts at 2:30 p. m.
Two grid powers T.C.U. and
Nebraska meet there at 1:30.
Texas A&M travels east to
play Georgia Tech at 2 p. m.
Arkansas plays Oklahoma
State in Little Rock at 7:30 p.
m.
S. M. U. meets Illinois in Dal
las at 7:30 p. m. Baylor takes a
well deserved week of rest and
Rice doesn't open until next
week. Texas Tech plays Kansas
there at 1:30.

Enrolls At
Southwestern U.
Phil Lindsay has enrolled at
Southwestern for the fall sem-
ester as a junior pre-medical
student majoring in chemistry
and biology. For the second con-
secutive year he is the recipient
of the Herman Brown Memorial
Scholarship given annually on
the basis of scholarship good
citizenship and potential ser-
vice. He will again be a chemis-
try lab assistant.
He returned to the campus
last week where he was one of
the GO upperclassmen serving
as orientation leaders for fresh-
men students. Leaders are chos
en by the Orientation Commit
tee composed of faculty mem
bers.
Phil is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. C. R. Lindsay.
Mrs. Clarence Marchak was
leader of the program Monday
evening when the Wesleyan
Service Guild met in the home
of Mrs. Franklin Schlessinger
with Mrs. Ray Watson and Mrs.
Cv Young as hostesses.
The leader gave the medita-
tion and directed the program
on "Mission to Six Continents".
