Municipal court's amnesty program now open
Any person with an out-
standing warrant from the
city of Joshua is being en-
couraged to address it this
month.
From Oct. 17-28, any-
one coming to the municipal
court can have the failure to
appear charges and the fine
amount of $225 dismissed.
To qualify, a person must
pay the warrant and fine
amount in full and the fail-
ure to appear charge and fine
will then be dismissed by the
court.
Payment arrangements
for outstanding warrants can
be made during this time,
however amnesty will only be
offered on the failure to ap-
pear charge and fine, if pay-
ment is made in full. Warrant
round-ups are scheduled fol-
lowing those amnesty dates.

celebration Saturday
The Joshua Fire Depart-

As part of the celebra-

be marked, noting the time
when the community estab-
lished the volunteer fire de-
partment.
Design of the new 12,600
square-foot facility has been
completed and soon the bid
phase will be under way. The
new station will have four
65-foot drive-through bays
with 16-foot doors.
The operations side of the
facility will house a kitchen
and dining area, day room,
bunk room capable of hous-
ing eight overnight firefight-
ers, restrooms and showers.
In the administration
side, offices for the chief and
other command staff are
complemented by a recep-
tion area, lobby, public re-
strooms, training room and
fitness/workout room. The
training room will double as
a community room available
to the public for birthday par-
ties, meetings or other gath-
erings.
Also included in the ad-
ministration section of the
building will be the city’s

Fall clean-up event
set for this weekend
Residents are being asked
to circle Oct. 21-23 on calen-
dars, the time when the city-
wide fall clean-up will take
place.
Only one load of debris per
household or business will be
allowed.
The number of loads of
trash and debris has become
a problem in the past with
many people making repeat-
ed trips to dump trash and
debris that total more than
20 trips. The cost of that vol-
ume quickly overwhelms the
ability for city crews to man-
age and haul off the debris.
Residents will be required
to present their most recent
city trash bill, along with a
photo identification, in order
to dump. Business owners
will be required to provide the
most current water bill and a
photo identification. Drop off
times are from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Vehicles are to enter from 6th
Street and leave from 10th
Street. There will be a $5/each
charge for batteries or tires. No
chemicals, paint, auto parts or
any appliance with a compres-
sor will be accepted.
Please remember that
persons who live outside the
city limits of Joshua will not
be allowed to dump and will
be turned away. This pro-
gram is only available to resi-
dential and commercial resi-
dents within the corporate
limits of the city of J oshua.
Adopt a pet
Numerous pets are avail-
able for adoption at the Josh-
ua Animal Shelter.
There are eight puppies,
eight adult dogs, two adult
cats and no kittens. Contact
the animal shelter at 817-
774-9450, visit the city’s
website or check out Joshua
Animal Control on Facebook.
