conducted a short business ses-
sion. Miss Bessie Skinner gave
tho opening prayer. Tho Christ-
mas program was presonted by
Mrs. Bridges with Mrs. Stanley
Schwertner reading the script-
ure from Luke 2:1-20. Mrs.
Bridges presented a reading on
"Christmas In Other Lands."
She told of ancient traditions
and customs of many countries
nround the world and how many
of these same customs are ob-
served each year in America. A
mediation and prayer by the
leader closed the program.
The refreshment table cover-
ed with a white cloth held am
overlay of pale green net appliq-
ued with felt designs in the1
Christmas motif. Mrs. Larry
Sullivan served the punch and
was assisted in the dining room
by Mrs. Guenzel and Mrs. Cry-
er. I

Fourth Birthday
Terri Tinsley celebrated her
fourth birthday with a party at
kindergarten Tuesday morning.
Refreshments were served to
the following kindergarten stu--dents:

Friendrich Shelley Marshall
Rob Spiegelhauer William
Whitlow Jon Marc Goodnight
Kevin Hill James Murray the
teachers Mrs. Louise Oldham
and Mrs. 0. C. Gunn and the

Knight and Mr. and Mrs. M. C.
Monds.
Ruth Circle Meets
n Lindemann Home
Ruth Circle of the St. John
Lutheran Church met Thursday
evening in the home of Mrs.
Eldor Lindemann for their
monthly meeting and Christmas
social.
The devotion for the evening
was brought by Rev. Robert
Thronson and tho Christmas
story was presented by Mrs.
Clarence Fischer. Christmas
carols were sung by tho group.
Refreshments were served by
all members.
Lassies Defeat
Granger 37-26;
Bulldogs Lose
Bartlett Lassies A team de-
feated Granger 37-26 Tuesday
night in Granger.
High scorer for Bartlett was
Sara Ware with 22 points.
Diana Vrana scored 12 points
for Granger.
The boys A team lost to Gran-
ger 48-34.
Scoring for Bartlett were
Wayne Powell 14; Willie Col-
line 10 ; Jim Hightower 4 ; Dan-
iel Volney 3; Franklin Fischer
2 and Hubert Dubec 1. Larry
Cummings was high scorer for
the winning team with 15
points.
In the B game Bartlett lost
by a score of 22-21.
Irwin Ruemke was high scorer
for Bartlett with 11 points and
Ronnie Fails scored 8 points for
Granger.
Bartlett will play Thrall here
Friday night.
Mrs. Jack Scale Mrs. Jewel
Ford of Granger and LuEllen
Lindemann spent the week-end
in Houston with Mrs. Dorothy
Watson.
Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Wilke
of Kingsland were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Janke and Debbie.

IST. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schul-
tz of Austin were visitors of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz

Members of the Woman's
Wednesday Club met last Week
in the home of Mrs. Maurice
Steglich for their regular meet-
ing and Christmas program. Co-
hostesses were Mrs. Marguerite
Kuler and Mrs. Cleo Patton.
Mrs. James Bailey club pres-'
went opened the meeting. Min-
utes were read by Mrs. Joe
Bridges.
"Homo Life" was the topic
of the program. The Christmas
Inspiration was brought by
Mrs. Stanley Schwertner. Miss
Jenny Edge Home Economist

guest speaker. She presented an'
attractive display of holiday

the group. Gifts were exchang-
ed. Those attending were one vis-
