Dies In Temple
Mrs. Birdie May Lynn 79 of
Temple sister of Mrs. Leona
Cryer of Bartlett died early
Thursday of an apparent heart
attack.
Funeral services were con-
ducted at 10 :30 a. m. Saturday
at Little River Methodist
Church the Rev. Bill Horick
officiating. Burial was in Hol-
land Cemetery with the Good-
night Funeral Homo in charge.
Mrs. Lynn was born in
Barnesville Ga. and came to
Texas in 1902 where she lived
in Bell County for most of the
rest of her life.
Surviving are three daugh-
ters Mrs. Tommio Cummings
Mrs. Evan Nielson and Mrs.
Bobbie Wright all of Temple;
two sisters Mrs. Ruby Ed-
wards of Temple and Mrs. Le-
ona Cryer of Bartlett; three
brothers James Butler of
Gladewater L. T. Butler of
Beaumont and Alton Butler of
Winnie; seven grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Joe Cul
pepper J. D. Culpepper J. W.
Hutchinson J. G. Gray Geor-
ge Swain and A. J. Lanham.

lett mother of Mrs. G. L. Po-
Tvell of Bartlett were conduct-
ed at 1:00 p. m. Saturday at the
Lee Tabernacle Methodist
Church in Navasota. Burial was
in Kennard Cemetery in Nava-
sota. Surviving are a daughter
Mrs. G. L. Powell of Bartlett;
and three sisters Mrs. Bertha
Kinney of Anderson and Mrs.
Martha Hightowor and Mrs.
Sally Mae Kennard both of
Houston.

Dies In Austin
Funeral services for Mrs.
Irene Frances Joslin 62 of
Austin former resident of
Temple and Bartlett were
conducted at 3 p. m. at Wilke-
Clay Funeral Home the Rev.
Keith Wright officiating. Bu-
rial was in Forest Oaks He-
morinl Park.
Mrs. Joslin died Saturday in
an Austin hospital.
She was the former Irene
Soloman of Temple and had

the Faith Presbyterian Church
and lived in Austin for 30
years.
Surviving are her husband
William M. Joslin; two sons
Chester Joslin of Austin and T.

grandchildren.
Mrs. Ren Sladovnik and Sal-
ly Mrs. Susan Cochnauer and
J. H. Gillespie spent the

All-Day Meeting
A. L. C. W. of the St. John
Lutheran Church will hold an
all-day general meeting next
Wednesday Feb. 9th beginning
at 9 a.m.
Everyone is asked to bring
a covered dish for the noon hour.
During the morning hours
there will be quilting party and
the afternoon session will in-
clude the general meeting.

Two Bartlett students Nan-
cy Guenzel and Richard Bel-
yeu will appear with the Tem-
ple Junior College Choir in its
annual tour of Central Texas
cities this spring.
Miss Guenzel a 1971 crad
uate of Bartlett High School is
the daughter of Mrs. Lillian
Guenzel of Bartlett. She is a
freshman music education ma
jor at Temple Junior College.
While attending Bartlett
High she was a member of the
Future liomemakers of Amen
ca the National Honor Society
ani the band. She was also a
cherleader and state band
sweetheart. Miss Guenzel let-
terer four years in bas-
ketball and placed first in dis-
trict and regional journalism.
She was a class officer and was
elected Miss BHS.
Belyeu a 1970 graduate of
Bartlett High School is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bel-
yeu of Bartlett. He is a sopho-
more nursing major at the 46-vear-old
college.
While a student at Bartlett
High School he participated i
the band and received the
Best Player Award. He is em
ployed as a ward clerk at Scott
and white Hospital.

Former Resident

Frank (Duke) Rentchler
71 of Cameron former local
resident died Sunday after-
noon in a Cameron hospital
after a long illness.
Funeral services were con-
ducted at 1 p. m. Wednesday
at Green Funeral Home of Ca-
meron the Rev. Doyle Darwin
officiating. Graveside services
were conducted at 3 p. m.
Wednesday at the Bartlett
City Cemetery.
Mr. Rentchler was a retired
feed supply salesman and had
lived in Cameron the past zo

years.
Surviving are a daughter
Mrs. Marlene Hines of Fort
Worth: a son. Mark Francis
Rentchler of San Pedro Calif.;
and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Perry Dies
In San Antonio
Word was received here Wed-
neday morning of the death of
Mrs. M. G. (Mitt) Perry who
died in San Antonio early Wed-
nesday morning following a long
illness.
Her late husband Mitt Perry
was a former resident of Bart-
lett and the grandson of the or-
iginal D. H. Stockton family.
Services were pending at
DOG NOTICE
The city's program of picking up and
destroying untagged dogs which got under
way February 1 will continue through Tues-
day Feb. 15.

Scheduled For
Friday Feb. 11th
All adults men and women
are invited to attend the se
cond Adult Afternoon Fellow-
ship scheduled for Friday af-
ternoon Feb. 11 from 1:30 to
3 :30 p. m. at the First Baptist
Recreational Building. This
will be a Valentine Party.
The afternoon will provide

fee has been declared uncon-
stitutional candidates them-
selves seem to be solving the
situation this year by making
a contribution of the same
amount they would have paid
under the old system. The
court's object of course was
to make it possible for anyone
to run for office but then the
court's don't have to finance
elections. Somebody does.
