LETTERS TO
THE EDITOR
November IS, '68
DEAR EDITOR:
It la good to have Point ad-
vance In so many ways, lnrlud
'.ng getting a sewage syitem,
wtiich she is trying lor.
I believe the enclosed copy of
my letter to Texas W'ater Qual
ity Board Is self explanatory.
My point is that the sewage
■-unficatlon system ahould be
fu'ly adequate to do a full Job
Dumping impure water into
sit cams, or having a bad odor
w.-fted across the countryside
wUl not enhance the value of
the lake, the country or the
tjwn. either moneywise or aev
■helically
The reason I am writing you
la that I know papers some,
tones have a way of getting
things across, and I am hoping
you will take an interest in this
matter, before It is too late.
The plant planned may be ade-
quate, hut 1 feel that If it was I
would not have received a no
l ce of a hearing by the Texas
Water Quality Board.
Youra very tuuly.

I Tar Sir:
About three weeks ago I re-
ceived a “Public Hearing No-
tice’ stating waste water from
sewage plant at Point, Texas, is
to be emptied into Lake Fork
of the Sabine River. 1 have no
Interests on Lake Fork so con-
sidered the notice did not per-
tain to me.
Just recently I received a No-
vember 7th copy of the "Rains
County Leader" with an article
Mating the discharge w uld be
into Cedar Creek Yoer notice
did not mention Cedar Creek
I will be unable to leave my
work to attend the hearing on
November 22nd
But I have a farm through
which Cedar Creek flows aj>
o'oximately two and half miles
southwest of Point and I hav-
more farm land and a home at
the up|ier end of Cedar One
where < j-dar Creek empties into
Lake Tawakoni.
I want nothing but pure wa-
ter flowing through my farm
That would include water that
slock might til ink and wa> "
with no odor and would probe
tly include other features which
don't know about—for I an
rUther a water nor sewage en-
fineer.
I am not protesting the die •
charge, as such, but 1 am pro
testing any water which ml»ht
7i impure or obnoxious in any
way.
Yours very truly.
