The ’dogs scored in four plays
following the second half kick,
with Watson covering 44 yards
on the scoring play, over the
left side. Paul Trotter added a
two point conversion for a 14-6
lead.
Ricky Orr thrilled the scat-
tered fans a minute later, when
he gathred in a Quinlan punt on
the Howe "58, and followed a
wall of blockers into the end
zone, only to have the play can-
celled by a clipping penalty.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1968
Rodney Stevens, running from
the fullback position usually oc-
cupied by Mike Bennet, scored
the final TE> on a one-yard hit
to climax a fourth quarter, 63-
yard drive. Bennett was injur-
ed early in the contest, and was
taken to a Sherman hospital,
Watson contributed the final 2-
pointer to climax scoring.

Rites In Sherman
Tuesday For
Mrs. Ross Wood
Funeral services were con-
ducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. for
Mrs. Ross C. Wood, 66, Route 3,
Sherman. She was a sister o*
Mrs. Jewell Stegall of Howe.
Mrs. Wood died at 12:45 a.m.
Monday in a Sherman hospital.
Rites were held at the Grand
Avenue Church of Christ with
interment in Akers Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was bom at Howe,
January 19, 1902. She was for-
merly Beatrice Stark and was
married August 6, 1919 in Sher-
man. She was a graduate of
High School here.
Other survivors include her
husban<T of Sherman, a son,
Dwayne Wood of Redland, Cal-
ifornia; a daughter, Mrs. Dora
Rigdon of Sherman; another sis-
ter, Mrs. Sadler Odom of Sher-
man; 12 grandchildren and one
great grandchild.
