[lousing and commercial de-
velopment planned for Howe,
at an estimated cost of $1,000,-
000, ::; shown on this plat.
Tentative plans call for seven
shops, supermarket and more
than one thousand parking spac-
es (designated here by fish bon-
es)
The site, moi'e than 150 acres,
is located about two blocks west
of the present business district.
The initial planning has tak-
en more than two years. Plat-
ting was done by John C. Gib-
son and Company, Dallas con-
sulting engineers.
Also planned within the area
is a new bank building for the
Howe State Bank, just below
the durve in Hanning Street, to
the right of the drawing.
The Hanning Street opening
(right) lines up with the con-
tinuation of the old part of the
street, which will pass under
the new Highway 75 Express-
way.
Services stations will be con-
structed on each side of Han-
ning, entrance to the proposed
project.
Below the shopping center, to
the left, along Western Hills
Drive, can be seen five cover-
ed housing sites. The large
white section, in the right of
the drawing is a 50-acre' tract
for future commercial develop-
ment.
The property to the right of
Western Hills Drive (white
space), and from King Street
to Farmington Road is not in
the project.
Main housing development of
ai’ound 300 homes is shown in
the bottom left portion of the
drawing. Twelve streets of dif-
ferent lengths will be construc-
ted. There is also provision for
a private club house, swimming
pool and recreation area be-
tween Honeysuckle Lane and
Countryside Drive near Park
Street.
M. B. Swanner, one of the
developers, said this week that
the site is open to contractors
in both the housing and com-
mercial areas.
