discussion, the meeting got down
to business and arranged a list of
premiums to be offered for various
farm products on sales day, Satur-
day, September 16. The premi-
ums are verv liberal and are worth
competing for. You will find a li*t
of them printed on another page of
this paper. Read it.
In addition to the premiums the
merchants have declared their in-
Tion to make some extremely low
prices on staple goods for that day.
They sav they are going to make
it a day that will not soon be for-
gotten by their out of town friends.

SHE KNOWS
There lives a Miss in Conroe
Who is so wondrous wise
She uses only ACORN FLOUR
To bake the family pies.
She finds that it is just the thing
Delicious bread to make,
And vows that only Acorn Flour
Both “makes” and “takes” the
cake.
Jack Sprat could eat no fat,
His wife could eat no lean,
They purchased Acorn Flour
And licked the platter clean
Sing a song of sixpence
A pocket lull of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a pie.
The dough made from Acorn Flour
'* The birds they took to flight
And soon the birds, the pie and all
Had risen “out of sight.”

school. Furthermore. Conroe
submits conclusive evidence that
she is both able and anxious to
establish, equip and maintain such
a school. The schools are thor-
oughly organized, classified and
systematized, maintaining seven
grades in the Grammar school
and four grades in the high school.
Thereby making eleven grades in
all. There are employed for the
ensuing year four teachers who
are to Uo exclusive high
school work, Those teachers
have been specially trained for
departmental teaching, and wore
chosen on aocount of their pecu-
liar titDess for the departments
assigned them.
