Mrs. Inez Hopkins honored Mrs.
James Gleghorn with a “blessed
event" shower at the Hopkins home
Friday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m.
The party followed a valentine mtoif.
Mesdames Jim Williams and Conley
Jenkins, co-hostesses, were assisted
by Mesdames Hopkins, Warner, Cog-
burn, Lynn Prock, Thompson, and
Wickham.
The house was decorated in red
and white carrying out further the
valentine motif. The dining table
was covered in a beautiful hand
made lace cloth. The center piece
which rested on a mirror base con-
sisted of large red flowers inter-
mingled with clusters of white candy
tuff; a stork carrying a tiny baby-
doll was perched amid the flowers.1
A silver coffee service, plates of
sandwiches and a white cake sur-
rounded by storks in pink and blue,
each with a red heart in its beak,
completed the table arrangement.
Mrs. Jenkins received the guests.
Mrs. Williams was in charge of the
guest book. Mrs. Warner poured cof-
fee and Mrs. Gus Berg cut and serv-

Miss Rose Cumby has moved from
the home of Richard Motley to that
of her sister Mrs. A. B. Prock. Mr.
Motley has sold his home.
Mrs. Edith Price entertained her
Sunday School class of the Masce-
donia Church of Truman with a Val-
entine party in her home in the Lake
wood Addition, Friday, February 14.
Mrs. Ernest Peretta chaperoned the
youngsters to and from the party.
Mrs. J. R. Windham is in a local
hospital at the present writing re-
covering from a kidney operation.
Mrs. Grady Little is the “good neigh-
bor” helping out in the Windham
home while Mrs. Windham is recov-
ering.
Mrs. Clara Bowser returned to her
home in Mesquite Tuesday after
spending a week visiting Mrs. Dorsey
Witty.
Mrs. Kitty Jackson of Austin, sis-
ter of B. E. Thompson, was a guest
in the Thompson home Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kincaid w'ere
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Munson and Mr. and

Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Barrett enter-
tained with a birthday luncheon for
their son and daughter, James Bar-
rett and Mrs. Frances Bell, last Sun-

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Guynes who
have been living in the home of Mrs.
Guynes sister, Mrs. Josie Cunning-
ham, have moved into the apartment
vacated by the Cowans.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob G'aultney of
Ennis visited Mr. and Mrs. iS. H.
Shipley Sunday.
