Miss Detulia Potts of Liberty is
spending her vacation with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. G. Wilker-
son. She has completed her nur-
ses Aid Course and plane to work
in the Kersting Hospital or in a
Hospital nearer home.
Mrs.Leroy Wells and sons Jerry
and Bill made a trip to Houston,
to meet Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wells
and they all left for Dallas and
Six Hags. They reported a won-
derful trip. They also spent a
week in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
O. R. Orville inWinnfield, Louis-
iana.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Fields are
spending a few days in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. R. Davis in Beau-
mont.
Mrs. Elvie Broberg is making
her home in Irvine at present. She
is employed in a Nursing Home.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Huber and dau-
ghter Diane, are leaving Sunday
to return to their home in Lud-
low, Mass.
Marty and Donnie McGuffin
have returned home from Hou-
ston where they were employed
during the summer. Their grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hale
Guedry.

HUNTSVILLE---For die nearly
13,000 inmates of die Texas De-
partment of Corrections, the an-
nual Texas Prison Rodeo held here
in die prison stadium each Sunday
in October is more than just a
topflight entertainment feature.
Most of die inmates know that
rodeo tickets sales mean spiritual
educational, recreational, and
medical services not allocated by
the Texas Legislature.
They know, also, that bacausc
of die rodeo, die Texas Depart-
ment of Correction is able to car-
ry on a full scale rehabilitation
program designed to help inmates
prepare for the day when dicy will
be eitiier paroled or discharged
from prison.
That’s why they work doubly
hard to make certain diat the
’Prison Rodeo will always be the
type of entertainment which will
attract record crowds at each per-
formance.
The 1965 Prison Rodeo series ,
in addition to highlighting the
best inmate talent in rodcocon-
tests and entertainment, will also
feature the nation's foremost tel-
evision and recording stars.
On October 3rd, Tennessee Er-
nie Ford will be guest star, follow-
ed by Dizzy Dean on October 10 th:
Rogdr Miller on October 17th;
Brenda Lee on October 24th, and
Jimmy Dean on October 31st.
Reserved seat tickets are now
available and may be obtained
by writing Prison Rodeo Office,
Juntsville, Texas, 77340. Tickets
orders must include either check
or money order.
The 34th Annual Texas Prison
Rodeo begins at 2 P. M. and lasts
two hours. A special pre-show
program by inmates begins at 1 P.M
