The ball at the court house
last night was of the most enjoy-
able one of the sea, son. A large
crowd attended, the weather was
ail that could be required and
the Brightman Bros, string
band furnished splendid music
while the ladies of the Catholic
Cemetery Society, in their usual
lavish and thorough manner,
furnished an elegant supper and
delightful refreshments. Nearly
all the fun lovers in the city rein-
forced by a number of visitors,
were present, and not one failed
to enjoy the few hours spent.

wagons on the road a few miles
this side of Goliad,, and that sev-
en of them were bogged down in
the mud to the axles, and staTil-
