BUCKINGHAM’S DYE
Co.—Nashua, n. H._
The English royal family is making
a number of records. The queen has
long since beaten all previous sover-
eigns as to the length of her reign,
and now the Prince and Princess of
Wales hold records. George IY was
Prince of Wales for over fifty-seven
years, but his highness has now passed
his record, and the princess has held
the title for several years longer than
any previous holder.
The time required for a journey
around the earth by a man walking
day and night without resting, would
be 428 days; an express train, 40 days;
sound at medium temperature, 32 1-2
hours; a cannon-ball, 21 3-4 hours;
light, a little oved 1-10 seconds, and
electricity, passing over a copper wire,
a little under 1-10 seconds.

Two bottles of risers Cure for Consump-

One of the Grandest Offers Ever Mads,
The first five persons procuring the
Endless Chain Starch Book from their
grocer will each obtain one large 10c
package of “Red Cross” starch, one
large 10c package of “Hubinger's Best”
starch, two Shakespeare pictures print-
ed in twelve beautiful colors, as natur-
al as life, or one Twentieth Century
Girl calendar, the finest of its kind
ever printed, all absolutely free. All
others procuring the Endless Chain
Starch Book will obtain from their
grocer two large 10c packages of starch
for 5c, and the beautfful premiums
which are being given away. This of-
fer is only made for a short time to
further introduce the famous “Red
Cross” starch and the celebrated “IIu-
binger’s Best” cold water starch. “Red
Cross” laundry starch is something en-
tirely new, and is without doubt the
greatest invention of the twentieth
century. It has no equal, and surpasses
all others. It has won for itself praise
from all parts of the United States. It
has superseded everything heretofore
used, or known to science in the laun-
dry art. It is made from wheat, rice
and corn, and is chemically prepared
upon scientific principles by Mr. J. C.
Hubinger, an expert in the laundry
profession, who has had twenty-five
years’ practical experience in fancy
laundering, and who is the first suc-
cessful and original inventor of all fine
grades of starch in the United States.
If you would have the best, ask for
“Red Cross” and “Hubinger’s Best,”
which are the finest starches on the
market today.
The jobbing houses all handle it, the
retail grocer has it on his shelves, you
find it in all the homes, while the care-
ful housewife has adorned the walls of
the home with the beautiful Shakes-
peare pictures which are being given
away in introducing “Red Cross” and
“Hubinger’s Best” starch. .

Was,Napoleon ruined by indigestion?
A writer on Abraham Hayward’s Art
pf Dining says: “Had Napoleon been
more addicted to good company and
the table, he might never have reigned
n Elba or been exiled to St.~ Helena!
He ate irregularly and on impulse; all
he cared for was to have meals always
ready, and he paid the penalty in the
digestive complication which paral-
yzed him on the mornings of momen-
tous engagements.”—Dublin Herald,'

PROGRESSIVE TAILORS,
The merchant tailoring business ol
Chicago during the past few years has
been progressive. It has in some in-
stances been reaching out and cover-
ing innumerable towns so that today a
jnan can get a fashionably made Chi-
cago suit of clothes without coming to
Chicago, no matter where he fives. And
how is this done? you no doubt will
ask, and I will answer you in the
words of a representative of the Inter-
national Tailoring company, who make
feelings, and am well and
hearty. I shall recommend
Lydia E. Pinlcham’s Vege-
table Compound to all my
suffering friends as the
greatest remedy for all
female weakness.”
Mrs. Susie J. Weaver,

tried without success to produce a vio-
