YOUTH FOR CHRIST
The regular Saturday night
rally, held in the auditorium of
the First Baptist Church is
gaining momentum in spirit and
in numbers each week. The lar-
gest crowd of any Saturday
night was on hand this past
week to hear the music and
enter into the singing, so ably
led by Mr. Carl Head of San
Antonio. The message was one
o fthe very best we have heard,
being brought by Dr. James
Parker of Gonzales. He will be
with us again at some later
date.
Already the talk is prevailing
from many quarters of the time
when we must move our , rallies
to a larger building. The pres-

Lina Kuhfuss Dienger, daugh
ter of William and Therese
Kuhfuss, was born at Boerne,
Texas, October 26, 1866. She
grew to womanhood, attending
the Boerne Schools, and lived
nowhere else except a short
time at Comfort, Texas.
Her father, who came from
Germany, was one of the first
settlers here at Boerne; had the
first general merchandise store
and carried the mail from here
to different points of the coun-
try during the time when
Indians were commonly on the
war path. Her mother, Therese
Riedel Kuhfuss, came to the U.
S. from Germany when only a
child and settled near New

building is nearly filled each
Saturday evening. Our hopes
now are that we might find a
building in the down-town bus-
iness district that we may be
able to use for our rallies. Sure
ly this would be a great advan-
take to all of us in this work.

The Choirs Repertoire is made
up of Sacred numbers exclu-
sively, one of which is a setting
of the “Lord’s Prayer” by the
Director, Herman Watson.
The program will include the
following numbers: Group I—
0 Sing Unto Him; Swing Low;
My God And I; Lord Our God
Have Mercy. Group II—Built
On A Rock; The Three Kings;
Were You 'There; Alleluia,
Christ Is Risen. Group III—The

Is Marching On.
The Choir has dedicated it-
self to the ideal of raising the
standard of church music both
through its appearance and by
the training of its members,
who go back to their homes and
their churches satisfied only
with the best.
Their appearance here is be-
ing sponsored by the St. John’s
Lutherans Church of Boerne,
and the concert is open to the
public. Since it is entirely of a
sacred nature, no admission
will be charged, but a free-will
offering will be taken.

WILL MAKE THE RACE
FOR REPRESENTATIVE
In conversation with former
County Judge M. J. Lehmann
he states that in all probability
he will become a candidate on
the Independent ticket for Rep-
resentative of this district.
Representative Harry Davis
has stated that he will not
enter the race this time. His
business has increased to such
an extent that he can not find
time to serve.
Judge Lehmann states that
numerous friends have request-
ed that he make the race.
