Jack Frost Visits
Saturday and Sunday nights were
the coolest nights of the winter sea-
son thus far, the temperature reach-
ing 35 early Monday morning and
resulted in a heavy coating of frost
with some ice reported in places. A
light frost was also seen early Sun-
day morning. Tomatoes and beans
were the only crops bit by Mr, Jack
Frost.

or motorcycle have been tested an 1
adjusted at some one of the county
test stations referred to, and that
said test and adjustment have beer,
made within the 30 day period just
preceding the date of application for
. registration.”
Since headlamps must be adjusted
within thirty days of the date of re-
gistration of iho cars, appr >* ,r. ateiy
two months, will be available for the
pre-registration tests. Considering
extreme cases, for example, if a car
is registered on January Isc, the i wri-
er will have had thirty davs in whi h
to have the M-a-lights adjust1, and
if a registration is made or. January
81st, praotv aiiy the whole month of
January will have been available. In
• other words, the certificate of adjust-
ment must not be over thirty days
■ old at the time the car is registered.
'Of course, most motorists will have
‘■their headlamps adjusted about the
‘time of registration.
Motorists are requested to begin
registration at the earliest possible
time and not wait until the latter
part of"'January. Early registration
will help the Tax Collector tremen-
dously, and will save time for the
motorist. The regular registration
period will begin in this county about
Dec. 1st, 1925, and will extend
through January 31, 1926.

Town Team Defeated
By San Benito Eleven
Raymondville town foot ball squad
motored down tq San Benito last
Sunday where they engaged the San
Benito town aggregation on the gridi-
ron. They held the small end of a 25
to 0 score.
Despite the one-sideness of this
score the game was replete with many
interesting plays. A tripple pass .be-
ing one of the outstanding features.
This pass started from Lochrie to
Huff; Huff to Smith and Smith to
McCann, for a total gain of nearly
fifty yards, bringing the pig skin to
within two yards of their opponents
goal. Four downs, however, withstood
the terrific ouslaught of the Ray-
mondville boys who lost the ball on
downs and thus ending their only
chance to score.
All of San Benito’s scores came in
the first quarter. The first one as a
result of an intercepted long pass
from center. The other three resulted
from costly fumbles by Raymondville
and literally wiping them off their
feet.
In the last half the Raymondville
boys carried the fight on San Benito’s
ground, but were unable to puncture
it for a touchdown.
Lack of team work in the first
quarter was responsible for the loss
■Of the game to San Benito. However,
when the visitors did get to pulling
together they were able to put up a
scrappy game.
The line up for the visitors were:
Stockwell, right end; Chandler and
,Shaw, right tackles; Swayze right
guard); Lochrie, center; A. Huff left
guard; Bader, left tackle; Crowell
and McCann, left end; Graham, full
back; M. O. Harding, right half;
Smith, left half; and C. Huff quarter-
back.
Valley Commercial
Bodies Are Active
Fourteen commercial organizations
of the valley, representing the cham-
bers of commerce, commercial clubs
and boosters organizations of these
towns gathered in Brownsville last
Thursday and sent out a very inter-
esting program over KWWG broad-
casting station.
Reports from the various organi-
zations'being given by a secretary
from another locality, thus giving a
concrete example to the outside
world that the Valley is a solid unit.
A request has been made all news-
papers in the Valley to place the seve-
ral commercial organizations on the
“exchange list” of these papers in- j
order that the secretaries of the :
various towns may keep in close touch
with the growth of this entire section.,
