Sir—I herewith tender my resigna-
tion as public printer, and ask that the
contract may be recinded. The approv
al by the Senate yesterday of section 16
of the printing bill, which supercedes
my contract, renders this step. ’ from' a
sense of self respect, necessary. Besides,
I have been unable to 'procure for the
work already done the prices stipulated
by ray contract, and .every character of
assistance, which might save roe from
loss. Respectfully submitted,

an appropriation for.the Agricultural

ation'of Building and Loan Associa-
tions ; and on the creation of a stand-
ing committee on the Comptroller’s
2?and Treasurer’s offices.
The bill passed abolishing the of-
fice of Notary Public, as it existed
prior to the adoption of the present
Constitution. It declares vacant,
thirty days after the passage of the
bill, the offices of all Notaries ap-
pointed prior to April, 1876.
J. D. Elliott tendered his resigna-
tion as printer of the current work.

tinuance law, regulating proceedings
in District Courts in reference-to ap-
peal bonds, and in reference to a
change of venue.

taken up in discussing the Galves-
ton Sea Wall bill.

The discussion of the question
whether this is a regular or an extra
session was continued. A vote was
at last reached on the adoption of
the majority report, declaring this, T
