“Lurlene” Barton, 93, of
Gilmer were held at 10 a.m.
on Wednesday, May 11, 2016
at Croley Funeral Home in
Gilmer with the Bro. Donny
Chamberlain and the Bro.
Charles Johnson officiating.
Interment followed at
Hopewell Cemetery in
Upshur County.
Mrs. Barton passed to the
loving arms of her Heavenly
Father on May 8, 2016.
Lurlene was born Oct.
1, 1922, to Byon and Curtis
Amos. She married Jimmy
Barton and together they
started Barton’s Taberna-
cle which became a popular
venue for gospel music.
Those left to cherish her
memory are her son, Wayne
Barton; daughter, June Bar-
ton; son, Larry Barton and
wife, Rolanda; ten grand-
children, numerous great
grandchildren, and great-
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in
death by her husband, Jim-
my; son, Jerry and her par-
ents.
Pallbearers will be grand-
sons, Ray Gunn, Gerald
Barton, Jimmy Ray Barton,
Gary Barton, Brian Barton,
and Josh Barton.
She will be greatly
missed by those blessed to
have known her.
The family received

10, 2016 at Croley Funeral

Gibson, 81, of Gilmer were
held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May
10, 2016 in the chapel of
McWhorter Funeral Home
with the Bro. Charles
Johnson officiating. The
family received friends
on Monday, May 9, 2016.
Interment followed at Grice
Cemetery.
Leah was born Jan. 31,
1935, to Marion and Doro-
thy Terrell and she passed
away Friday. May 6, 2016 in
Tyler.
On June 16,1952, she mar-
ried Wesley “Wink” Gibson.
Mrs. Gibson was the retired
Cafeteria Manager for Har-
mony ISD and a member of
Rosewood Baptist Church.
She always enjoyed cook-
ing and preparing the big
family meals. The part she
really loved was to sit back
and watch everyone dig in.
She was survived by her
children, Connie Hunter,
Ricky Gibson, Roni Cas-
key, Leann Johnston;
grandchildren, Candice
Davidson, Michael Gibson,
Wesley Youngblood, Rikki
Seely, Jordan Alsadi, Dil-
lion Schmidt, Rachel John-
ston, Caleb Johnston and
Clayton Caskey and ten
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gibson is preceded
in death by her parents;
her husband of 61 years
Wesley “Wink” Gibson;
daughter, Karen Schmidt;
great-grandchild, Cole
Thompson; brother, Billy
Terrell and sisters, Jerry
Proctor and Joyce Martin.

Ms. Satterfield was born

Nancy Chamberlain Schul-
er. She was a business own-
er and of the Baptist faith.
Karen is survived by her
daughter, Dusti Hays and
husband, Nathan; grand-
children, Shelby Hays
and Dylan Reynolds all of
Ore City; brother, James
Schuler and wife, Brenda
of Gilmer; sister, Cathy
Green and husband, Randy
of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and
nephews, Misty Parker and

Hurtt Funeral Home in
Desota, Texas.
Tony was born Aug.
4, 1932 and died April 23,
2016.
He was a retired U.S. Air
Force Veteran.
He is survived by one
sister, Nancy White;
grandchildren, Matt Wil-
son and his wife, Charly,
Christy Kaczorowski and
her husband, Ryan, and
Cory Wilson; great-grand-
children, Ella, Kennedy,
Kylie and Kevin; adopted
son, Larry and his wife,

Mrs. Killian passed away
Friday, May 6, at her resi-
dence.
She was born Sept. 23,
1937, in Upshur County to
Henderson Toll and Emma
Bean Yandle.
She was a homemaker
and a member of the Stag-
ner Baptist Church.
She is survived by her
husband, Walter Killian;
one son, Larry Killian; two
daughters, Nelda Turner
and Wendy Horton, all of
Hawkins; eight grandchil-
dren and four great-grand-
children.
Mrs. Killian was preced-
ed in death by her parents.

Parris, 90, of Gilmer,
will be held at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, May 14,2016 at St.
Theresa Catholic Church
with the Reverend Mark
Dunne officiating. Mr.
Parris passed away at the
Bradford House in Gilmer
on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
He was born on July 25,
1925 in Winston County,
Ala. to O.A. and Mae Par-
ris. Mr. Parris enlisted in
the Navy in 1943 and served
3 years in the Pacific Cam-
paign during WWII. He was
a mechanical engineer by
trade but his love was art.
He taught art classes in
many areas of East Texas
and Louisiana. Mr. Parris
and his wife, Irene, resided
in Gladewater for many
years and moved to Gilmer
in 2013.
He is survived by his
loving wife, Irene; daugh-
ters, Pat Hanna and hus-
band, Mike, Becky Gordon
and husband, Randy; step-
daughters, Shane Lowry
and husband, Vance, Vonne
Walton and husband, Rick,
Shanis Young and husband,
Sammy, Sharell Eason
and husband, Ronnie; 16
grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren; sister, Au-
relio Larsen and husband,
Harry and many beloved
nieces, nephews, friends,
and family members.

Born on Nov. 21, 1947, in
Ft. Worth, to Warren Calvin
and Agness Marsh Gumm,
he died on Thursday, May 5.
He was a newspaper deliv-
erer for The Longview News-
Journal.
He is survived by his fa-
ther, Warren C. Gumm; one
son, Brett Gumm; two grand-
children, Brock Gumm and
Brody Gumm and one broth-
er, Ron Gumm.

Kelsey Memorial Cemetery

nual Work Day on Saturday,

The work will include cut-
ting and trimming trees and
shrubs throughout the cem-
etery area.
Dirt work in low spots and
graves, clean up and remove
old flowers and garnishments
from stones and things that get
in the way of mowing.
Bring any small tools need-
ed to cut trees and to do dirt
work as well as chain saws,
front-end loader, pole saw,
