Going the rounds is a story
about the New Orleans lawyer whu
tried to get a kwn for one of his
clients through the Reconstruc-
tion Finance Corporation. As-
sured that the funds were avail-
able for his client, he was asked
to prepare an abstract of title
which, in due course, was submit-
ted. says the Dothan Eagle.
Pronpptly there came back a
letter from RFC complimenting
him oa the splendid job he had
done preparing the abstract and
' loan application, but advising that
the mattar must be held up be-
cause the lawyer had failed to
trace the title beyond the year
1803.
Muttering under his breath
about bureaucrats and nit - wits.
