On Sunday evening the evange-
of the town’s citizens who have

spoke; nor can any other men on
earth, except he understands it in
the light of subsequent utterances
of Jesus and the apostles. But in
the light of those utterances it is
perfectly clear.
“It is a significant thing that
in all the conversions recorded in
the Book of Acts, or. in the New
Testament as a whole, the New
Birth is never even mentioned as
such. Why? Because after the
giving of the Great Commission
in Mark 16:16 there is no longer
need of veiled language, ‘Go into
all the world and prtach the gos-
pel to every creature. He that be-
lieveth and is baptized shall be
saved; he that believeth not shall
be damned,’ said Jesus. If the
Great Commission and the New
Birth do not contain the same
meaning then we have Jesus con-
tradicting Himself by saying that
faith and obedience will save in
the one place, and in the other1
saying that only the new birth will
save!”
The evangelist used a large
number of scripture quotations
and references to prove his point,
and also illustrated it by the con-
versions recorded in the New Tes-
tament.
Miss Rosemary Rehders sang
“Sunrise Tomorrow," as a solo,
illustrating the crayon picture of
that title drawn by Mrs. J. W.
