Saturday Specials
NEW YORK, June 2.—Tammany
Hall, wl^ile awaiting Samuel Sea-
bury’s next move against Mayor Wal-
ker, is standing loyally behind its
chief city officeholder.
No repudiation of Walker is plan-
ned by them, Tammany leaders let it
be known Thursday.
Since the Mayor’s two-day appear-
ance before the Hofstadter legislative
committee, the organization’s spokes-
men have maintained emphatically
that no wrongdoing on Walker’s part
has been uncovered by the inquiry
board or its snowy-haired counsel.
There has been reports that Mayor
Walker, if ousted, will seek vindica-
tion at the polls.
In Tammany circles it was learned,
however, there is a possibility he !
never will be a candidate for the may- |
oralty again.
In event of removal the Mayor’s ]
chair would be filled by Joseph V.
McKee, president of the Board of
Aldermen, for the rest of the year.

School No. 37 and beat and kicked
the 42-year-old woman principal into
insensibility. Bennett was arrested
and the principal, Miss Charlotte
Hanna, was taken to a hospital. The
man was charged with assault with
intent to kill.

VERY LITTLE OF JOB
Be sure to attend the sale of la-
dies’ summer hats at Higdon’s. (d)
WASHINGTON, June 2.—The sen-
ate had the unusual experience Thurs-
day of being told by a member that
he never was very anxious to enter
it and that now he was there, he
thought less of the privilege than he
; did before.
| The galleries laughed loudly as
! Senator Logan, democrat, Kentucky,
discussing government economy, said
| he would vote “to make all the mem-
j bers of congress dollar a year men.”
if it were proposed, and added:
| “I don’t have to stay here. I never
: had any great desire to be here and
i I have much less desire to be here
I than I did before I came.”
