TEST STARTING
NEAR CARTHAGE
Crow Drilling Company of Shreve-
port Saturday was carried as the op-
orator for a Panola county wildcat
test previously listed as belonging to
John G. Mayo, a Houston Indepen-
dent.
The prospect is No. ,1 Froet Lum-
ber Industries, with footage 1.320
feet from southwest and south**;*;
lines of a 113-acre tract tn the Thom-
as Kelly survey approximately seven
mile* southeast of Carthage.
It is the first of two wells planned,
the se<-<>n i project being seven miles
routheaxj of the first In the Dead-
wood area.
Valley Osage Oil Company v.as re-
ported as ready to start on a seven-
well drill program in the Smithland
area of Clarion county. The com-
pany haP*taked No. 1 R. B. Hart,
on a 7.49-aere tract in the Gains
