Riding the Fire Wagon.
There is an ordinance forbid-
ding anyone except members of
the Fire Department, riding the
wagon at any time, and fixing the
fine at $5.00 It is often neces-
sary for firemen to walk to the
fires while “outsiders” and
“sightseers” ride the wagon.
The fire boys are going to see
that this ordinance is enforced in
the future, and anyone violating
it will be promptly reported to j *
the proper officers. This does i +
not apply only to fires but also to j *
riding around town at any time, i f
So if you do hot belong to the j +
Fire Department and are in the ! J
habit of riding the wagon, this +
means YOU, and you are re-j +
quested to take notice. No ex- i +
ceptions will be made.

Farmers report that the boll
weevils are plentiful in all the
fields, and many of them want to
keep all the birds they have in
order to have the weevils de-
stroyed by the birds, hence the
number of “posted” notices which
constantly appear in the papers.

How
People
Lose
Their *
Money:
By concealing it about their per-
son ; by stowing.it away in mugs,
jugs and jars; by sewing it up in
skirts and ticks; by tucking it
under the couches and carpets, in
cupboards and bureau drawers;
these are some of the ways by
which people lose their money,
and sometimes their4iives.
