Sunday School Class of the First
Baptist Church, which met in
her home.
Sunshine sisters were revealed
during the meeting.
Refreshments of angel food
cake, punch, and fritos were
served to nine members.
FROM SOUTH AMERICA
Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Walker
have as their guests his brother,
Wayne Walker, and family from
Venezuela, South America.
Mr. Walker is employed with
the Haliburton Oil Well Service
Co., and has been stationed in
South America.
FROM NEVADA
Mrs. Richard Welsch, who has
been visiting her mother, Mrs.
J. C. Olson, returned to her home
this week in Elko, Nev.
TO ODESSA
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Alexan-
der visited last week in Odessa,
Texas, with his father, J,. H. Alex-
ander. They also were- business
visitors in Borger.

Bridal Shower
Mrs. Harold Campbell, nee Miss
Connie Jo Griffis, was compli-
mented Thursday evening with
a bridal shower at the Seabreeze
Courts. Hostesses were Mrs. H.
T. Gray, Mrs. Doil Kellar and Mrs.
E. B. Campbell.
Following the opening of gifts,
punch and cake were served to
seventeen guests.
TO OKLAHOMA
AND KANSAS
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grimsley
returned Sunday from a weeks
vacation to Erick, Okla., and Lib-
eral and Satanta, Kans.
In Kansas, they visited their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Mak-
emson of Satanta, and Mr. and
Mrs. Gus Grimsley of Liberal.

Mrs. H. D. BonorderNlnd chil-
dren, Mary Lynn and Bobby,
have been visitors recently in
Mississippi. In Long Beach, Miss.,
they visited Mr. and Mrs. Guy
Groff, and in Yazoo City, they
visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Joe B. Stringer.

Cheerleader
Miss Lynn E. Dimaline was se-
lected head cheerleader for the
coming school year in Aransas
Pass High School, in an election
held recently. A senior student,
Lynn is the daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. E. E. Dimaline.
Other cheerleaders elected were
Joy Gates of Port Aransas, fresh-
man class; Jeannie Collins, sopho-
more class; Billie Fay Lewis, and
Merle Shakes, junior Class; and
Sharon Andrews, also of Port
Aransas, senior class.
The girls will attend a cheer-
leaders school in August held in
Huntsville, Texas.

COMPLIMENTED
ON BIRTHDAY
Loraine Cady, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Cady, was compli-
mented recently with a party on
her eleventh birthday.
Games were played and songs
were sung followed by the open-
ing of many gifts.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Cady to twenty-seven friends
and classmates.
Locals Attend
Alto Frio
Encampment
Sixty-seven young people and
adults from the First Baptist
Church left Monday for the Alto
Frio Encampment near Leakey,
Texas. They will return home
Friday.
Rev. Bill Arnold, pastor of the
local church, is director of the
camp, and Mrs. D. C. Walker is
in charge of the registration com
mittee.
A new camp site, being built on
Lake Mathis by the Baptist
Churches in District 5, will be
the designated, place for next
year’s camp.
GUESTS IN RHODES HOME
Guests in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Owen Rhodes recently were
Mr. and Mrs. Van De Wert and
son, Billy, of Charleston, West
Va. Also visiting were Morris
Rogers, and Eugene and Jo Ann
Caulk of San Antonio.

CONVENTION
Chief of Police and Mrs. Felix
Tumbough attended the Texas
Police Association Convention in
Tyler this week.

Mrs. W. M. Nelson, a former
resident of this gity, and daugh-
ter Carolyn, and Miss Kay Field-
ler, all of Belton, are visiting
friends for two weeks in Aransas
Pass and Ingleside.

Attend Assembly
In Houston
Three local girls attended the
Grand Assembly of the Order
of Rainbow for Girls this week
in Houston. They are Sandra Sny-
der, Esther Claire Taylor, and
Jeannie Naylor.
Miss Snyder, a grand repre-
sentative of Alabama to Texas,
held a grand office at the assem-
bly.
Mrs. Jeannette Young, grand
visitor, also attended the assem-
bly.
The group will return to Aran-
sas Pass today.

COMPLIMENTED
Mrs. John Veazey was compli-
mented recently with a pink and
blue shower. It was held in the
home of Mrs. Dudles Broussard,
with Mrs. Lesserd Melancon as
co-hostess.
The honoree received many
gifts, after which refreshments
were served to eight guests.

FAMILY REUNION
Mr. and Mrs. L. W- Holden and
Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Holden will
be hosts at a family reunion to
be held this weekend.
They are expecting relatives
from many Texas cities' as well
