bIiQuj how related is tho present stu-

forcibly Bhown in a survey of the
present enrollment that discloses that
no less than 175 of tho students havo
been preceded hero by relatives-

a parent
Ono is confronted with tho prob-
lem of spneo at the outset of a sur-
vey of this nature for to record the
cntlro personnel of past representa-
tives of thosn numerous families to-
gether with tho things for which they
woro best known while treading our
campus would fill a number of tho
valuable columns of Tho Optimist. An
old-timer is very liable to overstep
himself in reminiscing of these other
old timers for 'tis pleasant to speak
of the mates of other days.
No article of this naturo could bo
opened pr6pcrly without naming that
champion A. C. C. family of all timo
the Sikes. Originating in tho com-
munty of Rowden southern Calla-
han county its first representative

MORRISMEN WILL FIGnT FOR
UPPER RATING IN T. I. A. A.
Tho A. C. C. Wildcats left last Mon-
day for an extended road trip. Al-
though thoy havo no chanco whotover
nt tho title this trip is significant for
many reasons.
Rovengo and dope upsetting is tho
aim of tho Abileno men in tho first
placo.
Never before havotno Abilene Bas-
kotcers had such an opportunity to
deal misery to ancient rivals like tho
Denton Eagles. Tho latter aro heading
tho confcrcnco at tho present timo
and a defeat from tho hands of tho
Morrismen would permanently de-
throne thorn; tho Canyon Buffaloes
havo not yet been defeated. Thon
there is tho triple defeat of tho
Daniel Baker crew to bo avenged.
But there is another reason why
tho Wildcats will strivo hard to win
oil of their other gamca. Powell is
in troublo in regard to tho all T. I.
A. A. team. Starting tho season in a
mild manner ho has lately started
pell-mell for that mithica Ream.
Whether or not ho will mako it in tho
faco of stiff competition depends on
his Bhowing in tho romainng games.
And finally there is the percentage
column. No coach -is content to occupy
tho cellar position and Morris is no
exception. With a pcrccntago of .375

COLLEGE PROPERTY OPEN
FOR INSPECTION THIS
WEEK
Since 1028 it has been the custom
in Abileno Christian College to set
asido ono day during tho week of
lectures as Open Houso Day at which
timo tho visitors as well as tho stu-
dents wore permitted to inspect and
visit all tho rooms in tho various
dormtorlcs in order to boo just what
kind of housekeepers inhabited tho
buildings. This was a great enjoy-
ment both to the students and the
visitors and wns always looked for-
ward to with great anticipation.
At this time however is is an-
nounced that tliero will bo no specific
day set nsido for that purposo dur-
ing this week owing" to tho increased
number of visitors and tho impossi-
bllty of them all seeing tho many
rooms in ono afternoon.
Bccauso of this existing situation
tho students and faculty arc Inviting
the visitors to consider that it is Open
Hpuso all the timo for them and tho
rooms are ready for inspection at any
time. It is tho intention of tho entire
student body to mako tho visitors feel
at home and welcome at all times and
perhaps by following this plan of
open rooms at all hours of tHo day
this can be accomplished moro
readily.
Come visitors you are welcome to
tne dormitories and tho various de-
partments of tho college.
