attendance was way down at the
Raptiat Church Sunday. Rev. Dav-
id Clapaaddle and son, Timothy,
were dinner jrueats of Mr. and
Mr*. Tim Snowden. They spent
the night with Mr. and Mra. Omer
Hall, ao Rev. Clapaaddle rould he
here for the quarterly WMU meet-
ing at our rhureh. There waa a
(food crowd at the meeting and a
Brood program. Dr. Herring: of
Brownwood, waa gueat speaker.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henderson
and Mra. I^ttie I.aw returned to
Sinton last Thursday and Lloyd
Deakina went hack to Odessa.
They will he hack in about three
weeks to finish straightening up
their business.
Mrs. Winnie Rrowning and
daughter. Mrs. Bryan Hodges and
the Phillips from Lubbock were
not able to return home until
■Wednesday on account of the hit-
ter cold weather.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Revel
from near Mertzon visited Mr.
and Mra. Jim Me Neely and the
Ira McNeelys laat Sunday.
Cleve Pridemore killed two Li»»
rattlesnakes under the hay before
the cold spell so I guess we hnve
to look out for them in the winter
as well as in the summer.
Mra. A. I). Bowen went to the
Kdcn Hospital Tuesday to have a
growth burned off her hand. Her
daughter, Mrs. Nelon, stayed with
her Tuesday night. We wish for
her a speedy retovery.
We are glad Ed Spiders is able
to bo up and about again after n
aerious sick spell. Mrs. Spiders is
about the snme.
Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Hallmark
and Mr. and Mrs. George Allen
spent the day Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Stuck* <>f Zephyr.
Mrs. Martin of Goldthwaite nr
rompanied them. O. K. Martin
spent the day with his son, Brady
and family of Lohn.
At this writing the Poole Co-op
Gin, hns ginned 1,172 bales of
cotton.
Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Pride-
more and family of San Angelo
visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Cleve Pridemore last Saturday.
Jackie Murray returned home
from Santa Anna last Friday
where he spent several days in the
hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Dunning
and son have moved to Rochelle.
Mr. nnd Mrs. M. C. Hallmark
made a business trip to Brady last
Thursday.
We nre glad to hnve Mrs. Sally
McCulloch back at home after
spending two weeks with her
granddaughter, Mrs. P. C. Chand-
ler and family of Stephenville.
Mr. nnd Mrs. B. L. Murrell went
after her Sunday nnd spent the
day with the Chandlers.
C. II. Pridemore and family of
Sweetwater visited Sunday with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs! Cleve
Pridemore.

A couM-hnve boen-serious thing
happened at the Briggs Brown-
ings’ late Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Browning was in the bath
room and suddenly a blaze of
fire gushed in from the water
heater on her. She backed up be-
tween the washing machine and
towd closet. The rug on the floor
caught fire. The curtnin on the
window was afire. The blaze went
out of the bathroom nnd when it
did the picture window in the
living room went out. Some of
the glass went past the cars in
front of the house. It burned
Mrs. Browning’s socks off, but
otherwise she wasn't hurt hut
wared so badly,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown
have a nice looking used pickup.

Millersview spent the day with

They came to see what had hap-

pump froze in a house with a lan-
tern burning right by it. We took
the pump to Coleman and bad it
welded, but a part inside of the
pump was damaged, so we had to
order a new part. We are still
hauling water.
Brady Martin of Lohn took his
father, O. E. Martin, to Brady
Hospital Monday for X-ray of his
chest. The report was not serious.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whatley of
Salt Gap visited in the Garrett
home Sunday afternoon.

resident of the Doole community
was dismissed from the Brady
Hospital Monday. He Buffered
arother heart attack.
C. O. Moore came homo from
Coleman last Tuesday to see

the extremely cold weather last
week nearly everyone has had
to repair broken water pipes and
plumbing Concern Is shown now
about small grain and It seems
now that most of It Is badly
damaged Sheep are being sent to
market since grazing of gruins
is out.

where they had been several
weeks stripping cotton.

At the Austin State School
more than 2,000 retarded child-
ren, who have been gathered in
from most of the counties in Tex-
