C. B. Anderson, manager of the
State Theater, announced this
week that he had booked an out-
standing show for his theater for
the Halloween midnight show, next
Wednesday night, starting at 11:80.
The main attraction for this big
Halloween show is the newest in
the series of Lon Chaney super-
horror films entitled “Strange
Confession.” The screen's newest
shocker is the blood-tingling story
of a ’ father and living husband
driven to murder by villainous per-
secution It is aptly described as a
night of unholy terror, charged
with emotions that turn men into
beasts—a new high in horror.
In addition to the main attrac-
tion there will be the “Spookie"
comedy “Boobs in the Night," feh-
turing the inimitable El Brendel
and a caat of merry-makers. Also
included on the program is “Holly-
wood Victory Caravan,” with a
score of Hollywood’* top stars,
headed by Bob Hope, Bing Crosby,
Hetty Hutton and others. ------

A new combination of Hollywood
stars is offered in “That Night
With You,” the musical, film, from
Universal which comes to the
State Theater Sunday for a four-
day run.
Franchot Tone, Suaanna Foster,
Louise Albritton and David Bruce
comprise the quartet of stellar per-
sonalities. The picture was direct-
ed by William A. Setter, a veteran
ef many major Hollywood ' suc-
cesses
The story in which Susy, Tone,
leuii* and Bruce will be seen, is
one of the more delightful to
emerge from Hollywood’s film
shop* in some time. It is a time-
less fable that breexes in and out
of a variety of settings. These
range from a New York penthouse
to a wholesale food market, and
include such interesting spots as
a de luxe mountain cabin, a lunch
dtner and an ultra night club.
With the action comes an accom-
paniment of tuneful music. Some
of this includes original arrange-
ments of numbers by Tschaikow-
sky and Rosaini, mingled with some
brand new melodies.
-Miss Foster not only sings, she
alsb 'dance,'wrtli a con* d?Uilrt
in ' several routines devised by
Lester Horton, the well known bal-
let master.
In addition ' to the stars, the
cast includes Buster Keaton who
is seen as a lunch counterman who
suffers from ulcers. The frosen
faced comedian turns in another of
his amusing performances.
