Bridal Shower Is
Given Tuesday for
Elsie Housewrig-ht
Min* Elsie Housewright, who will
be married Monday to Charles
(Curly) Window of Albany, was
complimented with a bridal shower
in the living room of the nurses
room at the Stamford Sanitarium
Tuesday night.
Mrs. Jackie Reed presided at the
bride’s book where the guests were
registered. Misses Evelyn Duden-
sing and Wanda Easterling served
punch and decorated squares.
A large number of gifts were
displayed.

Members of the Stamford foot-
ball squad and their coaches were
guests of C. B. Anderson and the
State Theatre late Monday after
noon to see Red Skelton in “Mer
ton of the Movies.’’

A surprise birthday dinner, hon-
oring Mrs. A. W. Hanson on her
70th birthday, was held at the
Hanson home Sunday when all of
the sons and daughters of Mrs.
Hanson were present for the oc-
casion.
The group gathered at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Raley and
went to the home of the honoree,
singing “Happy Birthday" as they
entered the home.
They then presented Mrs. Han-
son with gifts, which she opened.
The birthday dinner was brought"
and served buffet style. Featured
attraction was the beautifully dec-
orated birthday cake, which was
cut and served with the dessert
band came to this area in 1004 from
Corsidbna, settling in Haskell coun-
ty, and moved to Stamford in 1928
Mr. Hanson died in 1941. Mrs.
Hanson was Alice Dulaney Ward
before her marriage in 1892.
Present for the celebration Sun-
day were Mr. and Mrs. J. R .Han-
son, and sons, Harvey, Glen and
Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Han-
son, Bobby, Ann and Anthony, all
of Lamesa; t. W, Hanson of Dal
las; Mr. and Mrs. Sam J. Hanson,
Joe and Nell; Mr. and Mrs. George
W. Hanson and son, Jerry; Mr. and
Mrs. Rupert Raley, Sue and
Wayne, and Ruby Hanson and the
honoree, Mrs. A. W. Hanson, all of
Stamford, and Mrs. Hanson’s niece,
Mrs. J. H. Hallmark and her hus-
